Translucent Streams

By Mary Louise Wehunt
Apr. 30, 2005

Choir of His children who travel paths of quiet translucent streams; how easily they transcend pebbled stones to that place of spiritual renewal, I share not their tranquil flight.

I sang not the songs of Solomon Nor have I quiet grace to guide my steps through their easily turned pages of human existence, I endure swells of body swallowing water and unmovable boulders the my path to my humanity, peaceful tranquility escapes me.

The less traveled path delights the choir but is not for me. I shake at every step of my crocked path and tremble at every season of human existence. At every turning season of this earthy stage I renew who I was intended to be.

I shall move boulders and swallow up the swells before me. I shall endure in light given not by the choir, I demand a higher power for my flight to perfection. Shall the choir transcend with me? I see them placid and smug in their delight But their delight is not my delight I shall move the immovable! I shall endure!
