Apr. 23, 2005 For the record, the article “Michael Jackson Is A Boot Licking Uncle Tom” was written by me. But because of an electronic snafu, the by-line was credited to “A Black Person.” Yes, I am black and no, Michael isn’t—at least not by my standards. As I mentioned in the article, black skin in and of itself does not equal blackness in mentality. The article was not written to bash Michael. His actions have done more to discredit him than any tabloid, or e-zine article ever could. As James Brown wrote, “Don’t tell a lie about me and I won’t tell the truth about you.” That is, Mr. Jackson’s reality is twisted, as I suspect his mental state is. No matter what you say, under the guise of innocence or not, a grown man should not be sharing his bed with pubescent boys—period. Just so the record straight, I don’t want anyone thinking I was “too gutless” to sign my name to that article. I’ve always been man enough to stand up and voice my opinion without fear of repercussion.
