Apr. 23, 2005 Sorry, but Michael Jackson Still Isn’t Black. He sold his soul for getters, glittered gloves and a girl from Graceland a long time ago. In the late 60’s, Black Nationalist Maulana Karenga wrote, “Membership in the black community requires more than physical presence...blackness is three things: Color, culture and consciousness.” This definition certainly does not apply to the man known as “Wacko Jacko.” In fact, a more definitive description of the gloved one would be to drop the word “wacko” from his nickname and add two F’s to the end of the second part. Michael Jackson had transformed himself from a handsome black man, with traditional African features—i.e., wide nose, kinky hair, dark skin— into a white woman so hideous he makes Phyllis Diller look like Reese Witherspoon. This man has a surgery Jones, having carved that once magnificent nose into one modeled after a Keebler elf. He has fried his hair—and apparently his brains as well—engaging in behavior that any self- respecting black man would label bizarre and immature. And the dye job on his skin from an almond brown to some odd, pastel, eggshell color is indicative of how messed up this man’s mind is. Jackson has the guts, gall and the gumption to cry racism when his critics attack him. But where was he (in the 80’s) when unemployed black steelworkers asked he and his brothers to do a benefit? He couldn’t find the time. I guess he was too busy plotting to backstab friend and mentor Paul McCartney, whom he ambushed by purchasing the Beatles music catalog. Jackson is a worm. I have no respect for so- called brothas and sistas who abandon the ‘hood whole soul and body, then cry racism and expects ‘hood denizens to support them. Why had they failed to speak out against racism earlier? They had the time and the platform, and they certainly would have been taken seriously. But nor now. Bootlicking Uncle Toms like O.J., Jackson, Clarence Thomas, Dennis Rodman, Donna Summer, et al, have no credibility and in some cases are perceived as so “weird” that their words ring hollow with most people, black or white. In short, Michael Jackson is about as black as Quentin Tarantino (who has abandoned his own race in the hope that he will become an honorary brotha—based solely on his uninhibited use of the ‘N’ word).
