Sheryl Crow, Sting, Reject Santana [And So Did Shakira]

By Judy Ramsook
Apr. 20, 2005

Known for his skillful guitar playing and collaborations with recording artists such as: Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty, Michelle Branch and others, Carlos Santana recently received rejections from Sheryl Crow and Sting.

Although no reasons were given for turning down the musician's request, Santana said that he will not take it personally, further stating that when it comes to chemistry for collaborations, "there is no real formula."

It was also noted that Colombian singer, Shakira turned down an offer by Santana too, but she did so because she simply has no time.

With such hits as: Samba Pa Ti, Oye Como Va and Black Magic Woman just to name a few, you don't have to be fluent in Spanish to have an appreciation for the infectious rhythms of his melodies that can capture any music lover's ear within a few seconds of hearing samples of his music. All you need is an appreciation for music.
