Mar. 24, 2011 Have you had anyone either a friend or family who comes to you for advice whom needs it desperately? If you do embrace it because friends are hard to come by and if they need someone to listen to and they chose you then you know you mean something to that friend of yours. I have these two friends Al and Jess; they have been my very best friend since I could remember. Since we’ve been apart because of us attending universities and colleges we lost the chance of seeing one another so our other option is talking through the telephone or instant messaging. They both come to me for my advice on what they could do in their relationship and I’m more than happy to help them because they came to me of everybody else they know. What happened to Jess and Al are similar, their boyfriends are acting differently/distant and Jess and Al being my best friends I told them what I thought. Either their boyfriend is hiding something from them or the boyfriends are just stressing out because something happened. I never gave them an answer as to what they should do, I answered them with options; never say no and never saying yes, more of a limbo.
My point in this is that no matter what type of subject your friends’ wants to talk to you about listen to them. Let them finish talking and then ask if they want your opinion, there is a saying, “It’s better to give than to receive” and I think it is true. You can give someone so much just by listening and why not? Having friends means loyalty and caring and that is what I intend to do with my friends.
