Jan. 21, 2011 This is in response to Mr. McCrae's athiest article. You make some interesting and valid points in your diatribe against Atheists. But, you also make a few errors, yourself. Paul was NOT at the Resurrection. Paul, born Saul of Tarsus, came to Christ many years after his death and resurrection! He never knew Christ while he was alive. The story goes like this (in YOUR Bible): Jesus had taught his Disciples (Mark 11:22-25) how to perform miracles themselves, and admonished them to go out into the world and carry his message performing miracles as they went. Saul saw Peter perform a miracle in the marketplace, and called him a charlatan magician. Peter challenged Saul back, so Saul went to turn Peter in to the authorities, but Peter escaped (that time). Later, traveling alone on the Apian Way Roman road, he met the resurrected Christ, who asked him why he was persecuting his Disciples. Saul immediately came to see that Peter WAS performing miracles, and fell down to his knees and asked Christ's forgiveness, to which the Risen Christ responded that that wasn't necessary because he died for ALL men's sins. Saul then changed his name to Paul, and began proselytizing the Word of GOD, as Christ had done before the Cross.
Further, Jesus told his Disciples to go out and get their own Disciples and teach them to perform miracles. They gathered 300 of their own Disciples before being captured and killed themselves. Jesus' intention is that by now, 2,000 years later, everyone would know how to and would be performing miracles.
