June 5, 2010 Joran Van Der Sloot was captured in Chile and is now on his way to Peru where he is a suspect in the murder of a 21 year old woman. Although Joran was visited by a contingency from the Netherlands while he sat in a jail cell in Chile, they will do nothing to prevent his removal to Peru. There were two ways to transfer Joran from Chile to Peru and Chile chose to "Expel" Joran rather than arrest and charge him with a crime in Chile.This is only the beginning a long process will which hopefully end with his being charged, convicted and sentenced for the murder that he is accused of committing. It has been stated that Peru has an abundance of evidence against Joran which includes forensics. What they have that Aruba did not have is a body. With that body comes a lot of forensic information that could very well put Joran away for a long time. There is no death penalty in Peru unless you kill a police officer or other high ranking official so I believe that the maximum sentence for murder is 35 years in prison. Let's hope that he serves all 35 years. The United States has also levied charges against Joran for "Extortion" and "Wire Fraud" but that will have to wait. Frankly, I'd hate to see Joran tried either here in America or on Aruba because he would be afforded way too much leniency and serving a sentence in a Federal Prison is not my idea of the severe punishment that I believe Joran deserves, As for Aruba, even if they decided to finally investigate the disappearance of Natalee Holloway I have no faith in that place to truly punish Joran and since they claim that there is absolutely no evidence it is highly unlikely that Joran will ever be charged there. Of course, my thoughts about whether or not they have evidence differ greatly from theirs. They have witness statements, confessions from Joran himself and a lot of circumstantial evidence as well. They could have a video of him disposing of Natalee and I doubt it would be enough to convict him in that place. The Chief Prosecutor claims that they never had a solid case against Joran while Beth Twitty, Jossy Mansur, Dave Holloway, Tim Miller and just about everyone else who helped search for Natalee begs to differ. Julia Renfro claims that there was never a cover-up where Natalee is concerned so I have to conclude that she is delusional or a liar. Never mind, she is both, in my opinion. Paulus did everything possible to make sure that all of his friends in government and in their justice department do nothing to harm his son and strings were pulled from one end of the island to the other. Paulus is gone now so I suggest that the witnesses who know something are now free to come forward and tell the truth about what they know. I suspect that if what they know could implicate the corruption that existed (exists?) on that island that they will remain silent. Aruba is all about the Benjamin's and anything that might damage their tourist trade will be kept secret. It is now up to Peru to do what Aruba refused to do. It is now up to Peru to run an actual investigation into the misdeeds of Joran Van Der Sloot. What a refreshing thought.....a country that actually is willing to investigate Joran. God only knows what they will uncover about him since I have every reason to believe that his crimes are not limited to Peru or even Aruba. I agree with others that Joran is a sexual psychopath and that when he doesn't get what he wants from a woman he takes it. Obviously, Natalee and Stephany Flores didn't want what Joran wanted so they had to die. I believe that there are probably other rapes cases in every place that Joran has traveled and that he simply has never been caught. It has been said that Joran is a serial killer but I disagree with that premise. He is not randomly picking women to kill and leaving their corpses for others to find in some ditch or other isolated area. I don't think that Joran is a Ted Bundy. I do believe that Joran is just as dangerous though. I do believe that Joran needs to be stopped because he will re-offend over and over again whenever he can't control his rage. I believe that Joran van Der Sloot hates women.
Now we begin the journey toward justice........get comfortable and be patient; it will take some time.
