WikiLeaks And Bang Bang Boom Boom

By Alexey Braguine
July 29, 2010

There is little new, nor many secrets revealed in the documents released by WikiLeaks. The only item of real new interest is that the various insurgents been using American made Stinger missiles to shoot down American helicopters. Like anyone who follows the Afghan war closely, I always knew that Afghan Muhajedin had them and did not believe statements that the helicopters been crashing due to mechanical failures. So, suspicions confirmed.

For American forces, the war in Afghanistan been going south for a long time. Despite the huge cost of this war, which is causing grievous damage to the American economy, the American citizenry has preferred to ignore it.

If it wasn't for the loss of Afghan, American and now NATO lives, this war would be the most comical farce in military history.

Here are some highlights. Saudi Arabia sells oil to the U.S. Part of the profits from these transactions go to madrassas, which train anti American militants and bribes to Al Qaeda to prevent attacks on Saudi targets. Umm, nice haha allies.

Since a large amount of supplies needed for the war, Americans contract Pakistani and Afghan transport companies to haul the stuff overland. The transporters charge high fees as they have to pay bribes to the various Talibans to avoid attacks.

So the Taliban has two sources of financing the war against American invaders paid by Americans.

Another source of Taliban income comes from Afghan politicians who skim the vast sums of American development money, which is shared with the Taliban as insurance.

And never mind the $500 billion going to Pakistan as military aid. Pakistan uses part of the money to finance the Taliban. One can't blame the Pakistani government, as once the American forces stop mucking about and financing both sides of this idiotic conflict, Pakistan will be left alone to wash the dishes.

Americans should be happy. They are getting a lot of bang bang boom boom for their buck.
