Than Before The Storms

The stepping stones led to the shed. They were terra cotta and beautiful in the sun and the black hose also winded its way through these towards the middle of the yard. The mulberry tree sometimes housed birds that were black and scurried through the interior to pick and rattle like jacks in a box and then fly outwards to other yards and other ways. The fence was stained to resemble rain water and a yellow bird feeder hung foiled against the red woodchips behind in the corner. Sometimes the bright sun went away and the winds and fierce rains came to challenge the flowers and trees and fences and birds. If they survived its torrents and assaults they came out stronger, and whatever their color, design, function, or destiny, it had now more resolve and power than before the storms.
