Green Co.

By Brian Michael Barbeito
Feb. 28, 2010

The greyest of days and the valley full of fog but the tanks pressed on, turning over shrubs, dirt laden with large rocks, and numerous trees. Bullets and grenades came from above and the air support flew low and straight on both sides bombing the top tree lines as close to the beginnings of the valley as they could. Fires blazed and seemed to hum all around the perimeter and fought well against the fog. Rolling and rolling this day seven Companies and dozens of extra infantrymen- grunts. Green Company led the way as always- the hard fights were their show and they knew their trade- knew their trick well. The dying howled in base and racketeering cries and the fight raged on. There was no way backwards as the enemy had come around from there also- performing something like a two front plan against a single enemy. The Companies could only press on, through the foggy valley, firing at sounds, hoping for more reinforcements from the air, from the air, from the air- as if the planes that would bomb the enemy were sent from a deity in the sky- a war spirit that would assist in blasting the enemy forces into the special dead world of the war souls.
