Aug. 26, 2010 After a long, hot, humid, lazy day I was startled fully awake from my semi-comatose state when I heard the shrill screeching voice of Nancy Grace sounding the alarm about Joran Van Der Sloot. "Joran is about to be released at any moment". "Joran Van Der Sloot is about to be set free..." What? How could that be? Nancy went on to yell that a panel of three Judges was considering whether or not to throw out Joran's confession, yada, yada, yada. So? What about the mountain of evidence that the Peruvian's have without the confession? What about the DNA and the videos and the rest of the evidence collected from the crime scene? Since when does throwing out a confession completely wipe out the ability to prosecute someone in ANY country? Of course, if Nancy merely stated the truth, that they might have to proceed without Joran's self-serving confession that wouldn't be nearly as interesting or worthy of her usual obnoxious personal style of hosting. Never mind that Nancy is a lawyer and was a prosecutor....never mind that her panel of talking head lawyers all stated that the confession really was not important in the grand scheme of things. Never mind anything even slightly resembling the truth. Nancy needed her reason to screech and scare. How must Natalee Holloway and Stephaney Flores' parents have felt when they heard Nancy telling them Joran was going to get off scot free? Is there anything that Nancy Grace won't do for ratings? Right after screaming that Joran was about to be a free man she went on to plug her newest book so I guess that Nancy has her priorities straight....NOT. Misinform the public and the families of the victims and than shill your latest money making creation in the same breath. So typical of Nancy and her usual M.O. I have often taken umbrage with Nancy Grace and her methods but this took the cake. Has Nancy forgotten Trials 101? Has she not watched all of the many CSI shows where Grissom and company continually tell us to follow the evidence and that the evidence never lies? Seriously, even though that's television pap, it's still true in real life cases. The evidence is all that matters in a murder case. Eye witnesses are unreliable, confessions are often recanted...we all know that trials go forward and people are held accountable for their crimes. Of course the above is upside down and inside out where Nancy Grace is concerned. No confession no case.......
Dear, dear Nancy, once you get your head out of your own ass and start to see the light you can then hope that some of us will believe anything that you say. Until then....go back to law school....you've obviously forgotten all that you were taught and are not making it up as you go along.
