Sept. 21, 2009 Conservatives controlled the U.S. federal government from 1980-2008. Yes, there were some brief interludes when a moderate democrat was elected president, and democrats had a slight majority in congress, but for the most part the agenda has been driven by conservative policies. The constant tax cuts for the rich, and the de-regulation of business led (as I predicted in an earlier article written for Useless-Knowledge) to a near depression. Furthermore, there's a plethora of problems from health care to the environment that have been unaddressed for decades because conservatives don't believe in government. Americans, even though the majority are slow and stupid, finally saw the light last fall and decisively voted liberals back into power. And now conservatives don't know how to act, so they have incoherent temper tantrums which they refer to as tea parties. Many of the tea party folks are old, white people who have fed from the trough of Fox News propaganda. They actually believe complete and obvious falsehoods that are easily debunked. It's not necessary to examine these lies in this column. Just go to www.factcheck.org or politifact, and it's possible to learn that President Obama was born in Hawaii, no part of the health care plan calls for death panels for the elderly, there's nothing in any health care plan that makes congress exempt, illegal aliens will not be covered by any part of the health care plan, etc. etc. The people attending these tea party demonstrations and the angry townhall meetings of this past summer are without a doubt the biggest bunch of ignoramuses, losers, racists, and chumps that have ever been brought together in this country. They spout easily disproven lies, they shout down intelligent debate, and their display of idiotic signs demonstrates their complete political illiteracy and credibility. Some of the signs call President Obama a socialist or Marxist. Other signs call him a fascist. Fascism and Marxism are on complete opposite sides of the political spectrum. Hitler and Stalin sent millions of soldiers to their deaths over the differences between the two political philosophies. President Obama can't possibly be both. Some signs show images of the president with a Hitler mustache. How ridiculous? The tea bag protestors deny they're racists, yet they display President Obama depicted as a monkey. That's not racist? Are they kidding? The tea party protests are organized by FreedomWorks which is a front group for insurance company lobbyists. Unknowingly, the people at these anti-health care reform rallies are protesting in favor of insurance company profits over quality health care for the sick. They are protesting in favor of increasing health care costs. That's how stupid these people are. They claim they want to take their country back. Hey, I've got a newsflash for them--we just had an election less than a year ago, and their side lost. And what do they mean by their country. I assume they think that people with differing political philosophies are not real Americans.
Fortunately, this noisy minority of loud-mouthed ignoramuses are in the minority and are likely to stay that way for a long time because the political candidates they support (such as that babbling buffoon, Sarah Palin) have no chance of winning.
