Oct. 7, 2009 Chris Christie, the former federal prosecutor, is challenging Jon Corzine, the billionaire and former Goldman Sachs executive, for the New Jersey Governor's Mansion. Issues, news reports, charges, counter charges, lies, more lies, half truths and nothing but the truth. Political ads are flying all over the place on my television. Corruption, jobs, taxes, spending, tolls, deficits and bigger deficits. When will it end? Hopefully, on election day. The economy is sour. It will eventually pick up. Taxes are high. Haven't they always been that way for ever? Wasn't it meant to be so? Schools need charters. No, they don't. Vouchers! Would you vouch for that? Send the kids to school so they can read the writing on the wall. ABC. What does that mean to me? Graduation rates are ridiculous. That's what the kids are supposed to be doing except they don't vote. Their parents do. So what are they going to do? Pay attention!! Then there is Chris Daggett, the third partner in this heavy weight match. He is doing satire. He's got them riding escalators. Up. Down. Not yet sideways. All they need are gloves. Some one might get hit. NJN Net has it all. So does WMBC. And the race can always be found all over the web. There are other political outlets including the Greater New York Metro Market. Watch it now. Corzine is trying to pump up hope for an economic upturn, something he hopes to spur. Christie is pointing out that taxes put New Jersey first and a lot of state funds are either running low or empty and Corzine has been there and done that. So if you want to change Trenton you should change governors. There are numerous points of contention as the three way debate made clear. But what Jon Corzine is hoping to do is flood Chris Christie with enough negative ads to swamp him on election day. The advertising advantage is Governor Corzine's because he has his own ready cash that is he more than willing to spend. The question is can Chris Christie counter punch enough to survive on election day. I am not privy to his strategy so I do not know if he is saving up for a last minute counter attack. Otherwise, he is going to slowly twist in the wind of Corzine ads. Corzine keeps pouring the ads on. More schools. More health. Don't believe Christie because Jon Corzine is attacking his credibility. There has been corruption. Or there was. This is where Corzine is weak. Not that he is totally crooked. It's just that Chris Christie has been a prosecutor. Increase taxes. Raise tolls. Everything is free. And the debate goes on. Debate. Response. Reply. Retort. Counter point. Come to the table. Belly up to the bar. Chris Christie likes donuts. Jon Corzine doesn't bite. Women? Men!! Demographics, shmemographics. Expanding services. Saving money. Cutting the budget. Paying bills. Green votes. The environment. Fish kill. Poison pills. The final question appears to be does Christ Christie has a big come back. Possibly lower taxes. Economic stimulus. More jobs. Less corruption.
The answer comes Election Day.
