May 5, 2009 Jacob Ellis was either in a deep trance or sleeping but couldn’t remember which when he his consciousness focused in the room again. He had received a definite message from an angel or spirit guide. It was the vision of a silver frog. It was a miniature frog that was kept in a show-room of his childhood house. The silver frog used to sit there in a room of Royal Doultons, expensive Chinaware, and plush dark couches rarely used. It had black flecks on it, and once in a long while, Jacob would enter that room, sit down, and hold the small piece in his hands. Doing this would ground him, center him, and inspire him in some way. Perhaps the silver frog had been a mystical focal point even though it was also an ordinary item. The frog also opened up as it was made to house something special, but there was rarely if ever anything kept inside of it. Now thinking back, Ellis smiled because the space, the calmness represented by the absence of something was sometimes more valuable than any jewel, gem, heirloom, or keepsake. He even recalled a story told by a spiritual teacher where a man found copper in a forest, and venturing further found silver, still further found gold, and when he went further than that he found himself. Jacob quietly thanked the good force that had sent him the consoling message of the silver frog, especially since the silver frog and the holding of it was something he had long since forgotten but now remembered with gratitude. ------------ About the Author: For more of Brian's short stories, visit his website: http://www.freewebs.com/storyandstory/.
