This is not meant to imply that other States don't have missing and murdered children, but Florida seems to be leading the pack in recent years and even going back as far as the murder of Adam Walsh.

I know that this will sound cruel but I can't helping thinking that parts of Florida have become the gateway for the individuals who appear on The Jerry Springer Show. I wonder if after their appearance their contracts stipulate that they be shipped directly to parts of Florida to continue their weird and wild ways.

It also feels like the USA got turned on it's end (Florida being at the bottom) and everyone with an IQ in the single digit range became magnetized and landed somewhere in the humid, swampy land of sun and Alligators.

As much as I feel badly for the family of Haleigh Cummings I can't help cringing every time I hear one of her relatives speak. I can only hope that she is alive but I wonder what her life was like before she went missing.

As for Caley Anthony...with a pathological , narcissistic, sociopath for a mother, a ball breaking Grandmother, a wimpy, sad Grandfather and a totally inappropriate and delusional uncle; it was almost inevitable that she wind up as a pawn in that dysfunctional mish mash of a family.

There are many stories of missing children everywhere and all of them are heart-breaking, but Florida seems to hold the current title of the most dysfunctional State of them all.

From the plastic, cookie cutter neighborhoods of Orlando to the heavily wooded boon-docks of Satsuma, kids are disappearing almost every month. In the above mentioned cases there has been something horribly amiss with their family units and it is beginning to make me wonder if it's something in the atmosphere that causes people to simply throw their children away.

We went from counting dangling chads to counting missing and murdered children in less than ten years and I haven't even discussed Jessica Lunsford and many other well documented cases.

Florida, what gives??
