![]() By Bonijean Isaacs June 18, 2009 So David Letterman made an tacky tasteless joke directed at Alaskan Governor, Sarah Palin's Eighteen year old daughter, Bristol that bounces toward her Fourteen year old daughter, Willow. Folks are mad and a "Fire Letterman" Protest has merged. David Letterman apologized. Sarah Palin accepted the apology stating that he has the right to tell the joke but she had to right react to the joke. That should be the end of the story but some folks are addicted to Drama so the "Fire Letterman" protests continue. Talk Show Hosts and Comedians traditionally poke fun at public figures and most of the time - the public figures shug it off as an occupational hazard. "Jenna Bush is getting married tomorrow in Crawford, Texas. And Vice President Dick Cheney will be there, so it's going to be a shotgun wedding." –David Letterman "In an interview with Fox News, Gov. Sarah Paling's daughter, 18-year-old Bristol Palin -- remember Bristol Plain, who had the baby? Well, she talked in the interview. She said, 'A year ago, I never would have thought I would become a mom or that my mom was going to be chosen to be a vice presidential candidate.' Oddly enough, both things happened because some guy failed to take the proper precautions." --Jay Leno "I like that Sarah Palin. She looks like the weekend anchor on Channel 9. She looks like the hygienist who makes you feel guilty about not flossing. She looks like the relieved mom in a Tide commercial." --David Letterman So What Happens when Politician's Wives Tell Jokes about Presidents - "Clinton Lied, A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad, it is." --Barbara Bush Former First Lady and wife of Former President George H. Bush Was Barbara Bush a Politically Correct First Lady? What About Presidential Candidate who make jokes about Politician's Kids "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." -- Senator John McCain speaking to a Republican dinner, June 1998. McCain's hideous attempt at humor by poking fun at the President's Daughter about is just as tasteless if not more so than Letterman's ill-conceived remark about the the Alaskan Governor's Daughter. The Talk Show Host's remark as likely spontaneous while McCain's joke was a prepared remark to a public audience.
It would be ridiculous if David Letterman gets fired but Lucky Escape that Senator McCain never got hired. Life on Life's Terms.
