The La Toya Jackson Interview

By Meri Ulrich
July 17, 2009

La Toya Jackson claimed in her interview with a British tabloid that Michael was worth more dead than alive. It appears that the Jackson's themselves are the only ones profiting from his death thus far.

It has been reported that the house that Michael was renting had a video system in every room and that the information that might have disclosed what really happened on that last day of his life is now missing. It has also been reported that IV equipment and oxygen canisters are also missing. This leaves only a couple of possibilities; the doctor or others who knew what happened to Michael removed the items in question or his own family did so. Some of the family members were seen leaving the house after Michael's death with a moving van.

It's obvious why the doctor and anyone present when Michael died might have a motive for removing incriminating evidence but what motive could the Jackson family have? Maybe they wanted to keep his already tarnished image as clean as possible so that his "icon" status could mushroom to the stratosphere that it has now reached and they could make more money now than they ever could have had Michael lived.

Michael separated himself from his family as long time ago when it came to performing and he certainly had no business dealings with his father, Joe. No one really cared about Joe Jackson before this and other than a recently filmed reality show that he hoped to sell, he had no connection with Michael's new tour.

I believe that Michael Jackson was responsible for his own death and although he may have had help in achieving it, he was the addict. I will be surprised (but not shocked) if the toxicology report doesn't bear me out on that. Will they release the truth to the public of exactly how Michael died? Will they tell us if he self-administered drugs or will they simply blame the entire thing on a doctor?

Will the world continue to view Michael Jackson as an innocent, vulnerable child-like man who was ripe for some unscrupulous individual or individuals to take his life for some strange reason?

Ian Halperin has made the claim in his new book, "Michael Jackson Unmasked", that he is absolutely convinced that Michael was not a child molester and that he was the victim of extortion. Couple that with his family's determination to keep his name as pure as the driven snow and you have a situation where there isn't a lot of room for the truth and whole lot of room for lies and cover-ups.

I believe that La Toya lobbed the first ball onto the field with her ridiculous accusations of a murder conspiracy. La Toya has as much credibility as her father....none.

There is no doubt that Michael Jackson was an extremely gifted entertainer and that part of his legacy will never be forgotten. It shouldn't be. I also believe there is no doubt that MJ was a conflicted, sad, lonely and troubled man who had a death wish. It was only a matter of time before his wish was fulfilled. Even the love of his children couldn't keep Michael from self-destructing. That fate was probably set in stone many years ago and I doubt that anything would have changed it.

Yes, there will be a lot of money made on Michael Jackson and he won't be here to throw it away as he has done for the past decade or more. His children will benefit as will his family and certainly other's will make a lot of money as well. Lawyers, the concert promoters (AEG), and those who are connected to the distribution of his wealth and the keepers of his family trust will also benefit greatly.

I don't agree with Ian Halperin regarding Michael's behavior with young boys...at the very least it was extremely inappropriate, but I do agree that family services should step in NOW and protect his children from the vultures surrounding them. I would hate to see them turn out like their presumptive father.

In his interview with ABC last night, Joe Jackson said that the children will be "Strong Jackson's"...but are they Jackson's at all? I doubt it, but nurture versus nature has a large part in shaping children so their life with Michael will surely have a great influence on their future. He seems to have loved them very much (even if he couldn't clean up his act for them). They also seemed to have loved hum in return. I hope that they wind up being cared for by someone who can give them the security that their father couldn't provide.
