Jan. 30, 2009 The houses backed onto the waterways and only private boats were seen there. Before a long and violent storm everything got dark and quiet. Those water spiders could be seen moving around. An old lady came out and took some towels indoors. There was an ancient sea turtle that showed itself briefly, under a bridge. People waited, and passed by windows, nervously looking out now and then. Darker and darker it got. Calmer and quieter became everything. Even the water spiders seemed to disappear. No old lady now. No ancient turtle. Boats moving slightly, built with unsinkable material.
