Jan. 25, 2009 He took off the timepiece and put it before him on the table. It had a smart black band with white stitching. The numbers on the face were large and plain. The face itself was large and plain save for the words ‘Kodiak,’ and ‘Water resistant quartz,’ and in tiny lettering at the bottom, ‘Japan Movt.’ The Japanese knew about movement and the piece kept good time. It looked like an engineers’ watch or a train conductor’s watch. It was another type of time that he thought of at 1:11. Angel time. Manifestation time. These numbers, the 1’s, were significant. Then there was another good sort of time and that was Indian time. More broad, more natural; a time in which things happened in their own time. Healing. Change. Growth. Homecoming. And still much more than these. He could only hope that Indian time would somehow ease the hardened hearts of the world.
