Stimulating?

By David Allen Jared
Feb. 25, 2009

Obama's so-called "stimulus plan" seems to only be designed for "stimulating" Democrat registrations, creating more and more and more give-away projects that will make more and more people dependent upon Democrats and the government.

What stimulates the economy, is another matter altogether and is largely ignored by this "plan." Putting more money back into the hands of those who earn it, is a PROVEN method of stimulating the economy, but Obama's plan largely ignores that simple fact in favor of give-aways to favored constituencies--such as ACORN, for example, scheduled to receive as much as $5 BILLION in government largesse. Why Congress would agree to finance an organization known for voter registration fraud, remains a mystery to those of us who are basically honest. I suppose it's no mystery to Democrats, however.

The American public is getting "change" alright. A change from dollar bills to a couple of quarters in their pockets after their tax bills are paid. To those "Republicans" or self-described "Conservatives" who, mostly out of pique, voted for Obama, I must say, "You're getting exactly what you were warned about before the election, so shut your pie-holes." Lord knows McCain wasn't much of a candidate, but he would have been almost infinitely better than what we're about to get--and there's not a blessed thing we can do about it now. With the left controlling both houses of Congress AND the White House, they can pass pretty much any cock-a-mamie program or project they care to...and they WILL. Unless America rises up and threatens every, single doofus Democrat in Congress with defeat in 2010, we're going to be looking at trillion-dollar deficits as far as the eye can see which will make the dollar about as worthless as a lead subway token.

Take a look at what the Democrat-controlled Congress did after winning control in 2006 and quadruple it if you want to know how interested in "bi-partisanship" they REALLY are. Almost as her first act for the new Congress last month, Pelosi wiped out the GOP's "minority rights" policies in the House that were instituted by Newt Gingrich in 1995 so the Democrats could still have input to legislation, even though they suddenly found themselves to be "back-benchers" after over 41 years of Democrat control of the House. So much for "comity," "openness," or " Democrat-defined "bi-partisanship," which has always been, "Do it OUR way, or hit the road." Republicans, on the other hand, need to FINALLY get that message. The Democrats are NOT interested in anything the GOP has to say about much of anything and they are NOT (most ASSUREDLY not) going to "play nice" with Republicans no matter WHAT they publicly say about it. To Republicans, politics seems to be viewed merely as a way to govern. To Democrats, it's the equivalent of WARFARE. While Republicans play at politics, Democrats are deadly serious about it and calculate every move to the nth degree. Their ONLY interest is in WINNING, which is strange because the left, in all other fields of endeavor, seem to simply HATE competition and the whole concept of "winners" and "losers." Apparently, they only hate the idea of losing if it's THEY who lose, though they give lip-service to doing away with real competitiveness "for the children's sakes" so their little psyches won't be warped by losing.

This so-called "Stimulus Plan," that, thankfully, didn't get a single Republican vote in the House and only 3 far-left Republicans in the Senate, and even disgusted 11 Democrat Congresscritters, will do absolutely NOTHING to "stimulate" the economy. It WILL, however, bring more non-producers than ever into the Democrat's camp. Frankly, I'm considering getting ON that bandwagon because I live on a fixed income, and in my case, they've "fixed" it BUT GOOD! Maybe I can get back some of the $300K that I lost out of my 401K when the Democrat's tax and spend policies cratered the markets in 2000 and again this year. Maybe I can even recover the $100K or so it cost me out-of-pocket to get my daughter through college earlier in this decade, thanks to the greed of all of those far-left ideologues who hold most of the university system's tenured positions. Since it was Democrat policies (sometimes implemented by stupid Republicans) that caused my financial straits, maybe I can convince some federal bureaucrat to "bail ME out," too. But, I suppose not--especially if I make it publicly known (as I am doing here) that I hold the REAL culprits responsible instead of laying the blame on some "over-paid corporate CEO," like a good little Marxist.
