Feb. 10, 2009 I have watched and read quite a lot since two year
old Caylee Anthony went missing and based on my experience and the many
years that I have studied various personality disorders, I have come to a few
conclusions regarding what happened to this baby.
Casey Anthony, the child's mother, is jailed and charged
with first degree murder and I believe that she exhibits some traits that might
explain how she could kill an innocent child.
I will not type out the disorders because it would render
this article way too long, so I will simply list some sites that will explain
the reasons for my beliefs.
First:
This web site will give you a definition of what a Border
Line Personality Disorder is and if you have followed the case you will see some
of the similarities to Casey Anthony.
Second:
This is a site that speaks of the profile of a Sociopath
and again, you will see the similarities to Casey Anthony.
The entire Anthony family appears to be completely
dysfunctional in their reactions and relationships to one another and that
dysfunction has culminated with the death of a child and recently, the
involuntary hospitalization of George Anthony (Casey's father and the murdered
child's grandfather). George Anthony disappeared and sent a text message to his
home stating that he "didn't want to live anymore". He is currently being
observed for his own safety and to determine whether or not he planned to commit
suicide.
George Anthony is a former police officer and
knowledgeable in the commission of crimes and all that entails. When first
interviewed by police he stated that he recognized the smell of death in his
daughter's car and that he felt that she was withholding information as to the
whereabouts of her daughter Caylee. He didn't want to believe that Casey (his
daughter) would harm his grandchild but it was obvious to me that he suspected
much more than he allowed himself to say regarding Casey's part in her child's
disappearance.
Cindy Anthony (the grandmother of the murdered child and
the mother of Casey) appears to be a very controlling and manipulative woman who
literally put words in her husband's mouth when he was interviewed on national
television. I also noticed that she placed her hand on George's knee every time
he was asked a tough question about what he thought happened to his
granddaughter and what his daughter may have had to do with it.
It has been stated that the Anthony's often fought with
Casey and that she lied and stole money from the entire family at various times.
It has also been stated that the family dynamics were very volatile and that
Casey literally ran the family in competition with her mother. The baby
contributed to the discord as Casey seemed to need to be the center of attention
and Caylee took a lot of attention away from her. The grandparents doted on
Caylee and I suspect that Casey resented her child for that reason as well as
the fact that she did not want the child in the first place and desired to live
the single life of a party girl without any encumbrances like a toddler.
I do believe that Casey killed her child and even if some
of the talking heads are correct in saying that the death may have been
accidental, I can NOT call drugging a child with an illegal substance that was
NOT prescribed by a Doctor for a specific medical condition an accident even if
death was not the intended end result. To me, that is clearly child abuse and
child abuse coupled with a death is the definition of felony murder one in my
opinion.
The forthcoming trial (if there is a trial), will be a
battle of experts attempting to rip apart the huge amount of forensic evidence
that the prosecution has amassed. Like the OJ trial and the Phil Specter trial,
experts such as Henry Lee will attempt to debunk every little detail with some
alternative answer that will be used to create reasonable doubt in the minds of
the jury.
After having observed the behavior and demeanor of Casey
Anthony I hope that the defense is unsuccessful in attempting to have this
woman set free. I truly believe that she is responsible for the death of an
innocent little girl and that she is a person with an incurable condition that
renders it impossible for her to feel empathy or remorse.
The only way to stop a person with the above mental
conditions is to remove them from society. None of the above conditions that I
listed meets the criteria for an insanity defense and thus far, there is
absolutely no cure for people inflicted with either border line personality
disorder or sociopathic behavior.
There is a victim here and that victim was totally
helpless. The perpetrator needs to pay for this crime and in my opinion, that
perpetrator is Casey Anthony.
