Outrage At The Jaycee Dugard Case

By Meri Ulrich
Aug. 28, 2009

First, I'd like to express my absolute outrage at the Jaycee Dugard case and how it was handled by the Sheriff's office of Contra Costa County. The following copy will explain why I am outraged without having to type paragraph after paragraph of explanations of the way this was miss-handled:

"The Contra Costa sheriff in California admitted Friday that his department "missed an opportunity" three years ago to catch registered sex offender Phillip Garrido and rescue the young woman he was allegedly holding captive, Jaycee Lee Dugard.

Sheriff Warren E. Rupf apologized for what he characterized as an "organizational failure" in November 2006, when a neighbor called 911 to report that Garrido was psychotic, there were people living in tents in his backyard and children could be heard there.

"On Nov. 30, 2006, we missed an opportunity for earlier closure to this situation," Rupf said. "A caller to our 911 dispatch offered that there were tents in the neighbor's backyard, that people were living in them and that there were young children. The caller also said that Garrido was psychotic and had a sexual addiction."

I don't normally advocate Civil lawsuits because many have no merit and are frivolous in nature. The potential for a civil remedy in the Dugard case is obvious and if the family does not sue on behalf of Jaycee and her two children they will be derelict in their duty toward her and all that she has suffered. I hope that the very best lawyers in the country come forth and offer to take this case and I have no doubt that they will win a huge settlement for this sad young woman and her two daughters who were fathered during the course of rape and other horrendous crimes against Jaycee.

Next, the coroner's office has announced that the cause of death in the case of Michael Jackson was drug over-dose and the manner of death was homicide.

Michael Jackson, as many of us have stated for over two months died as a result of a drug overdose consisting of large doses of Benzodiazepines combined with a lethal dose of Propofol. The drugs given besides Propofol were Midazolam, Diazepam, and Lidocaine and Ephedrine. The results of large doses of a combination of Benzodiazepines is known as the "Benzodiazepine effect". These drugs suppress both the respiratory system and the central nervous system and in Michael's case, combined with the Diprivan (Propofol), Lidocaine and Ephedrine caused him to go into full cardiac arrest.

I suspect that Michael Jackson died approximately 4 hours before he was actually pronounced at the hospital. I suspect that the Paramedics who arrived on scene knew from the start that they were attempting to revive a dead patient and that they did so only because Dr. Conrad Murray was the doctor in charge and ordered them to do so. He refused to sign a death certificate and I believe that he wanted a doctor at the hospital to sign it to relieve him of liability.

Wrong....he was and is fully liable and responsible for administering those drugs to Michael and he should be charged at the very least, with Manslaughter, in my opinion. I also believe that Dr. Arnold Klein will at the very least be under scrutiny by the Medical Board due to the fact that the authorities have reason to believe that he too was providing Michael Jackson with drugs that he did not need and that he was addicted too. The excuse that "procedures were performed requiring the use of some of the drugs in question" will most likely fall upon deaf ears.

So, you have irresponsible doctors, pharmacies, enabling hangers-on, family members who claim to have been helpless when it came to intervening or having had no knowledge whatsoever of Michael's drug use (Jermaine!!), and most of all...Michael himself who caused his heart to stop beating on June 25th, 2009.

Justice is a strange animal. Some get more than others and there are often two separate justice systems in place in this country. One is for the rich and one is for the rest of us. Let's hope that they converge in the above cases and that those who were victims get justice and those who were perpetrators get punishment for their crimes.
