Reigning New York Governor David Paterson Is Such A Nice Person

By Neil Levine

Why Is Anyone Discriminating Against Him?

David Paterson is currently the reigning Governor of New York, having ascended to the pinnacle of political power in New York State after the sudden and embarrassing resignation of his predecessor and fellow Democrat and former head of the ticket, Eliot Spitzer, who had problems keeping his pants on, much less his relationships on the sweet and low, allowing Paterson, the elected Lite Governor, to claim the State's top political job and run the show for these past so many months. While for his part, Paterson has confessed to being something of a playboy, nobody seems to care since he is so nice to everyone and anyone about everything, especially voters, who have come to see his first class kindness and generosity first hand. Indeed, Paterson has been so magnanimous with the state budget that he has had to tap tax payers in various ways to make sure bills get paid. A higher sales tax. Nuisance taxes. Just plain annoying taxes, not to mention things like income taxes and transit fees and even real estate taxes since state aid often translates into paying bills on the local and state agency level.

With the hard driving, some times antagonistic, especially if he thought he could make political hay, and controversial Spitzer out, the aforementioned anointed but politically untested Paterson has had to govern. While Mr. Paterson seems to be a very nice and personally likable fellow, highly educated, genteel beyond measure or obligation to various and sundry, generous beyond a fault with tax payer's money, as has been mentioned, perhaps even disingenuous about the understanding of the voters. Indeed, all this may be Governor Paterson's real political problem. Not everyone appreciates the unending largess that he has been practicing at the expense of hard working taxpayers and he and his fellow Democrat's clearly expressed dislike of rich folk, to the point that Governor Paterson and his political gang have decided to make them pay and pay and pay only to find out that he has miscalculated the fabled riches he wanted to tap, perhaps because it is all gone with the wind with the collapse of Wall Street and the fall in housing and real estate money, values, and assessments.

So top political honcho David Paterson is officially complaining about discrimination in the midst of all the unhappiness, which he appears unable to assuage and reconcile. He seems to think he is entitled to a fawning and groveling press, especially because of the hard times and his open handed and open budgeted response.

Now what can he do? Well as someone who is probably as good a lawyer as any, I would like to suggest that he sue the inglorious bastards. At least, that is what I would do if I were being discriminated against. Haul the inglorious bastards into court. Why take unwanted abuse? Why be victimized unnecessarily? Why not take these unfeeling and mean media barons, inglorious bastards as I have labeled them, to task and show them who is boss? What better way to do this than to get a sitting judge to ratify the good governor's charges, complaints and other petty beefs. Why not show how to lead in difficult times against adverse conditions by attacking such a politically imaginary enemy? What else can he do? Manufacture money he doesn't have? Listen, negotiate and deal with the not so loyal or wonderful political opposition? In brief, Sue The Inglorious Bastards! Have

Why should he do that? After all, he is the magnanimous and wonderful Governor of New York, the Empire State, no less.

As I would hope and would like to have said, why not speak up and be counted? This is the time to lead. To show the voters who is boss and knows where the action is instead of wavering and being wishy washy on matters that count such as taxes and other people's money and rights.

Let me be so bold as to ask where David Paterson intends to lead this great state. Where does he intend to take the electorate? I hope not to the cleaners? Certainly, in the upcoming campaign he can present an appealing program and engage the voters.

Let me further ask what is wrong with reorganizing state government and agencies to save money and improve services. How about encouraging investment and business development? What about creating jobs?

Why not take positive steps to improve the situation.

Now I do believe in a person standing up for himself and defending what he believes in. This is what I think I am doing. Why can't David Paterson do the same and stand up and present programs with a future instead of whining about all of the money vanishing and needing more and thinking he can put his hand in tax payer's pockets and find money to pay all the bills he seems to be creating. That would certainly end all the discrimination as I see it, let me tell you. Think about it.

So again, in conclusion, I say Sue The Inglorious Bastards, take them to task and make them walk the line. What better way to see Justice Served. Again, Just Think About It.
