Aug. 9, 2009 Last night On The Larry King Show the guest was Jermaine Jackson. Among the many untruths and fabrications that both Larry King and Jermaine broadcast was Jermaine's comment that he had no knowledge and had never seen his brother using drugs or appearing to be under the influence of drugs. Jermaine Jackson, he who constantly states that he was Michael's "voice" and "backbone" and was the "closest" to his brother flat out lied. Other members of the Jackson family as well as close friends, doctors and even Michael himself admitted that there were drug problems. Somehow, Jermaine managed to miss them entirely over the years. Does this guy really expect the public and Jackson's fans to believe this hogwash? Is he sacrificing truth to keep Michael's image pure as the driven snow? How insulting to the people who would still care about his brother and love his music regardless of his addict status. I think that the worst part of the entire interview was at the very end when Larry called out his wife, Shawn to announce that both she and Jermaine were going to appear in Austria in a charity concert as a tribute to Michael. They have also recorded a duet and a CD will be released. First of all, who really cares about Shawn King and who has really heard of her other than being the wife of a celebrity? Couldn't Jermaine find someone in the entertainment business with at least a little bit of clout to record with him? Larry couldn't get the names of the various charities straight who would benefit from this so-called tribute CD. He remembered that one of them was his own cardiac foundation but had to be reminded of the ones that benefit children and were organizations that might appeal to Michael. This was really no surprise since Larry King can't remember anything or anyone and comes across as a dithering fool most of the time. Since when is it proper for the host of an interview show to become closely involved with a project starring his own wife and smacking of nepotism? So much for impartial reporting. He has been covering the death of Michael Jackson from day one and has managed to get many individuals involved (and claiming to be involved) with Michael during his lifetime to come on his show to talk about Michael and for a brief moment I actually believed that Larry King was simply doing his job as an impartial interviewer so that his audience could be informed. That went out the window last night when it was mentioned by Larry's wife that she loved the Jackson family and knew them well and that Jermaine had been a frequent visitor to their home. How much do you want to bet that this loving relationship only began after Michael's death and only after Shawn was slated to appear and record with Jermaine Jackson? No one can deny that Larry King's wife is ambitious and seeking a major career of her own and that she has also appeared with her husband in various venues (she singing and he as a "stand-up comedian"). I have never heard Shawn King sing and I certainly wouldn't pay to hear Larry King try to be funny. The only thing funny about Larry King is his ineptitude while attempting to interview guests while fumbling, stumbling and bumbling through agonizing hour after hour. I have also been noticing that vultures are out in force to collect on Michael Jackson's name and fame. Some supposed American Historical group is selling lithographs and other paraphernalia on television and I assume that they have the permission of Michael's estate to do so. Get your copy NOW because there will only be "30 days" of printing and the low numbers will be the most valuable down the road!! Yuck........ In the infomercial for these Michael Jackson renderings it is pointed out how Michael is attired in his regal finery and that it befits his royal status as the "King of Pop". In other words, Michael is wearing one of his many stage costumes looking like some confused military general from some imaginary country. I guess that if Michael Jackson could be creative enough to sell himself than the door is open for others to cash in. I doubt that many of Michael's American fans will have the funds to travel to Austria to see the concert starring Jermaine and Shawn King but everyone can buy the CD so money will be made. This is only the tip of the iceberg where making money on Michael Jackson is concerned and we have only just begun to experience the hype that will be forthcoming in the months and years to come. I wonder how much of this money will actually benefit Michael's children and how much will line the pockets of the greedy, which obviously includes his so-called "loving" family?
Stay tuned....more Jacksonian memorabilia is on the way to a television set or CD player near you.
