Sun

By Brian Michael Barbeito
Apr. 29, 2009

It had rained for days and days when finally one morning the sun rose over the hills, not having to justify itself like the angry torrents of water had with their constant barrage of noise coupled with wind and thunder. Higher and higher it rose like a proud regal king of the cosmos. It was old, but it seemed to renew itself time and time again like this. Fire red at times and sometimes yellow, always warm and gracious. Sun. The moon waited, the rains were gone. The warm star melted away the drops of water on the leaves, on the rocks, on everything. Sun. Some foxes ran across a clearing. The bright star rose higher continually until the world was so gladdened it seemed like a depiction out of Jehovah’s Witness Watchtower magazine. Just inside the limits of time and mind the sun had already begun a descent and an open night had initiated an approach. It would be bringing with it spaciousness and new mystery.
