Apr. 10, 2009 -for Tara Lynn In the day, the sun had so much brightness that its light found its way onto every automobile surface, all rooftops, many eyes, and secret crevices too, of trees, of rivers, of snake holes or tops of rocks nestled safely on forest floors with leaves and decaying trees underfoot. The streams were thawing now, and life making new signs where the fury of a season had frozen the landscape like a parched white snapshot or a strange emotionally uneven winter maiden with no face, with no heart or a hidden one. Water and water flowing. Then night would come and provide more spaciousness and the moon observed this overhead. When the skies were pregnant with rain it was better and they would sprinkle then pour over the northern city. The salt air beaches were decades and continents away. The innocence that looked with a mystical set of eyes and received grace from all directions in abundance had receded vastly and seemingly forever.
