Sept. 23, 2008 Jacob had already been in a car accident on his way to some beach in some small town. He had hitched a ride with two different strange head cases. The first one hardly said a word and looked worse than Charles Manson. He had a box van with no windows and nowhere to sit hardly. The guy seemed silently angry and dangerous. Jacob was let off after a half hour drive with no major problem. The other ride was in a brown K-car, and the guy was drunk, but not fall down drunk. It had begun to rain. This one was more talkative at least. Jacob gave the guy five dollars for the ride afterwards and K-car dude seemed so grateful that you’d think nobody had ever given anything to him in his life. The K-car guy had a large knife under his seat that he had showed to Jacob, a Rambo knife. Later Jacob was at a god-forsaken beach that had no real redeeming aspects. It was slightly dirty, and hundreds of teenagers roamed around. There was one teenager that Ellis saw on a corner that was a local that Jacob thought was all right. He had long hair and looked a bit like he could be a Jim Morrison protégé. He was obviously a bit crazy, and had kept lighting matches saying that he could burn someone with fire. There was something good in his posture, in him being himself, in his being a real part of the environment. Eventually it rained and there was nothing worse than wet sand at a time like that, and people that he didn’t know or care to be with. The car he was in got stopped by some policemen, and that is when they gave everyone tickets relating to having alcohol.
