Sept. 8, 2008 Has anyone read the "Left Behind" series? They are
a series of books about the battle in the "end days" between good and evil. They
dramatically lay out the long years of suffering that will be inflicted upon the
world before the Messiah comes to defeat the anti-Christ.
I read the books because my daughter, who is an
Evangelical Christian, suggested that I do so. After all, I am Jewish and she
was trying to enlighten me. The truth is that I really enjoyed the books and
even though I viewed them as fiction they were well written and held my
attention.
There were some really chilling descriptions of the
rise of the anti-Christ and how he would appear on the world stage and convince
millions of his desire to change the world and make it a better (perfect) place.
He had an insignia and staged productions whenever he spoke and as he rose in
stature among the people he took on a supernatural aura.
Why am I bringing all of this up, you might ask?
Well, I saw a diagram of the Mile High Stadium where Barack Obama
made his acceptance speech. It scared the living hell out of me. It
was exactly like some of the scenes described in the "Left Behind" books right
down to the insignia and the unearthliness that surrounded the fake
Messiah.
I know that Barrack Obama isn't the
anti-Christ...well, I don't know for sure, but; I hope that he isn't. I also
know that he isn't the Messiah either. What were his people thinking when
they decided to stage such an elaborate, hokey, Hollywood
production?
He claims that he wanted a venue large enough to
welcome as many "regular" people as possible. Okay, I'll buy that, but couldn't
they have come without the scenery and the Greek columns and the insignia and
the dry ice and the fireworks?
Isn't what he has to say more important than the
show he puts on? Speaking of helping the "Lunch Pail" people (how I hate that
expression!), how much gasoline, and how many mortgage payments would this
production have contributed to the very people he claims to want to lead to a
brighter new America on his platform of "Change"?
I signed petitions on behalf of Senator Obamna and
I did my part to get him nominated. Mostly because I can't stand Hillary Clinton
but because I really believed that he did represent change. After this
convention I'm not so sure anymore.
He sure sounded and acted like the typical
politicians that I've come to loathe and disrespect. He is even going most of
them one better because I have NEVER, EVER seen a Presidential nominee put on a
soaring production the likes of which Obama is going to present tomorrow
evening.
I no longer believe that Barrack Obama is the great
leader that he claims to be and I DO NOT see any signs of "change". I see the
same old, same old and I don't like it one bit.
Actually, it's pretty creepy. Did you get creeped out by the whole set-up? It's weird and does not
bode well for the future if this man needs all of that crap to make his point to
the American people.
