Obama's Not Going To Make It To The White House

By David Allen Jared
Sept. 7, 2008

Over a year ago, Dr. Thomas Sowell, one of the most brilliant men in academia, said the following:

"'Nations are like men in that they prefer a fuss made in their behalf to real services rendered.' Although de Tocqueville said this back in the 19th century, it may help explain why the black vote today is so overwhelmingly for the Democrats, when Democrats have done so little good for blacks and so much harm. - Dr. Thomas Sowell, 7/9/07"

Another quote from deToqueville bears including here, too:

"America will remain a great nation only until the people realize that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury."

We started down the road to socialism on the day that FDR assumed the Presidency.  Like many of his time, he, at first, had great admiration for the Russian Revolution and the teachings of Marx and Engels upon which Lenin based the new Soviet "revolutionary" government.  It seemed like a good idea to have the government control every vital function--natural resources, manufacturing, transportation, the courts, food production, health care, pensions, salaries and benefits, fuels and energy and most of all, education.  Once Stalin took control and actually put communism into PRACTICE, a rational person should have been able to see the truth--that the system is badly flawed and can't ever compete with a market-based economy where a single, unique individual is deemed more vital to society than the State.  If FDR and his cohorts had realized that, he wouldn't have packed the Supreme Court with activist judges who see the Constitution as a mutable document that means different things in modern times than what the Founders originally intended.  Nor would he have pushed through ponzi schemes like Social Security.

We see, in the nomination of Barack Obama, the culmination of this headlong dash towards socialism.  To the Democrat left and their cohorts in the so-called "mainstream" media, this may be their last opportunity to pack both the Congress and the White House with far-left folks.  Republicans are, in part, responsible for giving them this opportunity by behaving like leftists themselves with regard to out-of-control spending when they were in charge, by trying to push through that abominable "comprehensive immigration reform" package that would have "legalized" 12 million illegal aliens at the stroke of a pen, and by trying to cut "deals" with the leftists in Congress...particularly in the Senate...only to have their pockets picked.

McCain has not been a very exciting candidate for the GOP and was the ultimate winner of the nomination race only because the left considered him the easiest to beat among the GOP hopefuls and crossed over in early primaries to insure his nomination.  I haven't been very enthusiastic about him either...until, that is, he did something completely brilliant last Friday by choosing a strong, conservative woman reformer to be his running mate in November.  His choice is brilliant on several levels.  First and foremost, it excited and energized the GOP's conservative base and those who were wishy-washy about voting for HIM, are now enthusiastic supporters.  Campaign contributions have been literally POURING in since.  In the first 24 hours after the announcement, the campaign took in over 4 MILLION dollars...six times as much as in any previous single day.  Secondly, Governor Palin's nomination gives the disaffected women who can't in conscience support Obama a place to go to advance their goal of breaking the so-called "glass ceiling."  Thirdly, Ms Palin is a strong, forceful woman in the mold of a Maggie Thatcher whose experience as a governor and as a small-city mayor completely outmatches the extremely thin resume of Barack Obama.  Fourth, Ms Palin not only talks the talk of conservative family values, she very obviously also walks the walk.

The left is very obviously in a panic over her choice as the GOP VP candidate.  While they are all publicly SAYING that it's a terrible choice of an "unqualified" candidate, if that were really true, they SHOULD be dancing in the streets, happy as larks, because such a "bad" candidate should assure them of a November win.  Instead, they are angry and are vicously attacking her and even her children in an effort to discredit her candidacy in an obvious effort to make her life so miserable she will opt out, because if she stays in...they lose.

Ms Palin WILL stay the course.  She's stronger willed than that, and for that reason, Obama and the far left's ambitions are toast.  Thankfully, we're going to be spared the disaster that would have been an Obama Presidency.  The last thing we needed was this empty suit having his strings pulled by George Soros and the Moveon.org crowd sitting in the Oval Office.
