Oct. 26, 2008 So Obama is ahead in the polls and the media is reporting only to good things about him and not the bad. I could go on about the little emphasized events and things that should have been reported in the press and on the nightly news but are not: but what's the use? No one but those on the right is going to take the slightest bit of notice. It should be patently obvious to any one who looks at the US from a mechanical perspective that in order for the present form of liberalism to exist it needs some type of authentication, some thing the average Joe would understand, in much the same way as does the UFO movement require a George Norris and an Art Bell. Before the age of European expansion Africa, Asia and North America were, according to the media and of course the educational establishment, socially speaking in pretty good shape .Give me a break; they were rescued by the Europeans .Any one with the slightest interest in these things would see the abject conditions pertaining to most of the non European world before the advent of western involvement. In China slavery was widespread ,the sentencing of one to years of hard labor for petty offences common, there being no legal check on the Emperors who ruled by divine decree. The first emperor of a unified China, Chin Shi huang ti, set family members on family members in order to root out sedition, the penalty for not going along with the Emperor being the sawing in half of the guilty person at the waist. In Japan under the military rule of the Knights of the Bushido one could be sentenced to be barbecued on a grill for not prostrating oneself with sufficient humility; in Indonesia the ruler's monopoly on the pepper trade making virtually every one working on one of his plantations his slave. In Africa the tribes from the interior were regularly preyed upon by those from the coast who would sell them to Arab slavers. Why! The main reason for the rift in Arab European relations was the reluctance of the Europeans to cooperate with them in the slave trade. Liberals have been taught in school and then by the media that those of Anglo Saxon and European ancestry have brought about the abject conditions in which the developing world now lives. The question is not whether this is true or not but how it could even be countenanced in the first place, and how could these type of lies advance a nothing to the presidency of the most power full country in the world? I can only put it down to the decline in western culture over the last one hundred years .Once upon a time poetry, art, plays and music were engaged in order to chart, so to speak, the direction of a civilization, allowing it to be aware of where it had come from, where it was at present as regards the past, and what its future direction would more or likely be. Enter the revisionary movements of eighteenth century Europe, the advance in communications and the enhancing of the above by the US. All civilizations contain two cultures; that of the masses and that of the rulers, the arisocrats. The later have the time and leisure to develop the culture while the former need some type of rudimentary culture in order to remind them of their daily tasks, their labor keeping the higher culture going. With the invention of the printing press and the later electronic forms of communication the peasant culture has taken presidency over that of the guiding culture, indeed in appears that in the west at this point in time there is no guiding culture, just that of the laborers'. No wants to believe that they are less capable than the other man and so over the centuries a myth has built up that the reason a person has not achieved the stature of the guiders of civilization is that there was some type of injustice which prevented the person from being among the elite. The media feed on this and of course encourage it so we now have a situation where half of the world, mostly those who are culturally and even intellectually incapable of being part of the guiding culture hold a grudge against those who do. Where there is a need you will always find someone to fill it ,in this case an excuse for failure attributed to the unfair nature of the world ,especially the west. Of course this is absurd as a look at immigration figures will show that the favorite destination of those wanting a better life is not Africa or Asia, but North America and Western Europe .What have these areas got that the others do not ? It is a way of life based upon truth- not lies fashioned by those who will not abandon their own failed culture. Sure the west is not perfect; but it's sure a heck of a lot better than the rest of the world. What has this got to do with the one aspiring to the presidency of the most powerful country in the world .Why it is that he is just a straw man put there by who knows who perpetrating the myth that the culture of the west is in decline and that there is a new air blowing in from Africa and Asia. America seems to be about to fulfill its purpose ,the absorption of the teeming masses bent in over throwing a culture so long resented as it has dominated the whole world .America is now sacrificing itself so as to ensure that Europe will be relatively intact in much the same way as did the Byzantine Empire absorb the Slavic barbarians the later Moslem invasion to become a perversion of the original civilization ,its sacrifice allowing western Europeans time to organize against the eastern powers. No civilization can exist without a culture .The west ,and especially the US, have been doing so for the last one hundred years or so, say since the advent of the phonograph which began the spread of the peasant culture we have today. It is so patently obvious that the media are appealing to the ignorant, those who even if given the evidence in front of their eyes will not only ignore it, but will immediately accuse those who are presenting it as being some type of racist bigot, the evidence now ignored with the new smoke screen in place, in much the same way as were the medieval astronomer's when presenting that the fact that the Earth was round and orbited the sun.
I can only take comfort from the works of Mathew Arnold, the noted Oxford don of the thirties, who stated that we should not worry over the present state of poetry with all of the new novels appearing off the popular press' ,that there was no need to subsidize poetry as it will survive on its own as man needs it for his own survival, in much the same way he needs water and food. The truth is out there and if one avails oneself of it or not is of no consequence as there will always be some one who will, and of course reap its benefits, who at the moment do not seem to be the Democratic party of the USA.
