Anti-Semitism And The Dark Side Of The Moon

By Joseph Andrew Settanni
Oct. 21, 2008

The author of this article has personally known Jewish people [not being himself a Jew] who told him that if only the State of Israel had been more reasonably founded elsewhere, there would probably have been a peaceful founding or very little, if any, extensive friction with probably (very) distant neighbors.

Historically, regarding the area of the world that used to be called the Near East, the Middle East of today, the peoples there have been fighting for, literally speaking, many thousands of years, even well before, as a true matter of fact, the existence of any Hebrews, today’s Jewish people.

If Israel suddenly ceased to exist in the Middle East, moreover, wars would still to be fought there because of continuing ancient and modern geophysical, geohistorical, and geostrategic reasons having nothing to do at all with either Jews or Arabs/Moslems in particular; and, that’s just a simple fact.

In the 19th century, some Zionists, to give here a little needed history, had suggested the possibility of having a homeland in some other location; perhaps, it was then still a kind of option to chose currently unoccupied or very sparsely populated places, e.g., in Australia with permission of the British Empire, Latin America or, perhaps, Africa as being among a supposed variety of rather speculative locations.

Of course, increasingly, most Zionists chose to go to the ancient area of the world known as the Holy Land (perhaps, made holy, some have suggested, because so much blood had already been spilled there). However, it is highly doubtful that land might really have been acquired elsewhere without some kinds of serious objections either by people on the particular continent or, one may logically guess, by many fellow Zionists who would have greatly disagreed with such a choice of homeland.

The hard truth of the matter is that wherever the State of Israel would have been founded, there would have been trouble. From personal experience of knowing anti-Semites, having read enough history about the many sufferings of the Jewish people, and many long reflections made upon the experience cited and much historical knowledge gained, a reasonable conclusion has been fairly reached.

Even, as a fable, if there were only one Jew left in the entire universe and if he were to somehow seek shelter on the dark side of the moon, it could be reasonably predicted that an expedition would, sooner or later, be organized, by many or most of the anti-Semites of this world, to get to that place for the sole sake of killing the very last Jew – such has been found to be the truly awful intensity of the terrific hate involved with the ultimate evil reality behind all of Anti-Semitism.

But, don’t stupidly or bigotedly throw the “bull feathers” (not to use another expression) about such hate as the product of Christianity, for how many Christians [the answer is none] were in ancient Egypt when the pharaoh would have truly loved to see all Hebrews dead?

No, the real (ultimate) reason is that the Jewish people were the first to adopt an increasingly strict monotheism and to seek, when it was felt needed, to defend it militantly. Perhaps, one may guess, even on the dark side of the moon?
