As I write this, I'm sitting here after watching the debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, which was pretty interesting.  With the revelation that the PBS "newswoman" who was "moderator" is in the middle of writing a sure-to-be-favorable book about Obama, it appeared to take on all the trappings of two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for dinner. 

 

I believe that Sarah Palin is perfectly capable of holding her own against a man who's spent nearly two generations in Washington with more baggage than the royal entourage going skiing in Switzerland, but much depended upon what questions are posed to her compared to those posed to Biden.  Leftists aren't very subtle in their disdain for Republicans in general and conservatives in particular and this "moderator" had to be super subtle now that her secret is out.  My opinion is that she WAS able to pull it off and did a credible job without noticable bias.

 

This lady, Gwen Ifill, is a black journalist with National Public Radio, which is, of course, a major part of what conservatives refer to as the "In-The-Tank Media," along with NBC, PBS, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe and BOTH Time and Newsweek magazines.  From the stories these outlets print and broadcast, you'd think that NO conservative has ever had a functioning brain cell--and particularly Sarah Palin.  Why she generates such hatred is pretty transparent.  She's the antithesis of everything liberals believe women should be, even though they SAY that they respect women capable of running both a family and a career.  In fact, if that woman is independent, strong-willed and conservative and does NOT adhere to the left's mantra of abortion now and one for every pregnancy, she's a definite threat to their desired hegemony over U.S. government affairs.  To almost all so-called "women's groups," it's all about keeping their "right" to murder their children in the womb if they decide having a baby is "inconvenient," and little else.  ANY woman (or man) who disagrees with that unfettered "right" is a threat and must be destroyed.  There doesn't seem to be ANY restraint on how that destruction may be achieved, either.

 

They tried it with Justice Thomas by loading the "hearings" with a pack of lies--not the least of the liars being none other than Joe Biden himself--and they're trying it now by lying to the public about Sarah Palin's experience as both a mayor and a governor.  The only people who seem to be refuting any of these falsehoods are those on Fox News and conservative radio commentators.  The in-the-tank media simply repeats the lies and distortions without criticism.  American journalism MUST be dead as a doornail--to paraphrase Sean Hannity.   There's not a single, honest journalist out there with the guts to dig into the dozens of skeletons in Obama's ample closets and find out the truth.  They all simply accept HIS explanations without comment as if his every pronouncement was "Holy Writ!" 

 

As for the "debates," they are anything BUT debates.  They are simple broadcast sites for each candidate to repeat his mantra of talking points...for Republicans no less than for Democrats.  At least the talking points of Republican candidates tend to be honest while, for example, Biden got caught uttering 15 provable lies in reciting his.

 

Ms Palin missed a golden opportunity last night to lay out the TRUTH about what has caused our current economic woes and exactly WHO is responsible.   Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden are both up to their hip-waders in the middle of the muck and mire that was CAUSED by a Democrat administration, aided and abetted by Democrats in Congress while Republicans were asleep at the switch.  At least the GOP's culpability was out of ennui and intertia while Democrats' involvement was active and motivated in part by their own greed for money and power.  Others responsible were former Clinton cabinet cronies who were RUNNING Fannie Mae, for example, and Barney Frank, the gay Congressman from Massachusetts who, with the help of Senator Dodd, Democrat of Connecticut, shortstopped every effort on the part of the Bush administration to rein in Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, the failures of which started this whole collapse.

 

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are both weasels who've benefitted financially from Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, but Obama has only been in DC for a couple of years and he's already NUMBER TWO in financial contributions from these two groups who have been financing Dodd, for example, for over 20 years!  Anyone who thinks that FM & FM don't demand a quid pro quo for their contributions doesn't know much about the way Democrats practice politics.
