These threats however not only involve far away Middle Eastern enemies but include enemies within our own hemisphere making deals with America ’s historic communist enemies in China and Russia . The first article is: “Iran to Get Russian Anti-Missile Defense” Dec 26 (2007) by ALI AKBAR DAREINI, Associated Press Writer which began “Russia is preparing to equip Iran with a powerful new air defense system that would dramatically increase its ability to repel an attack, Iran's defense minister said…” The article may be several months old but it cannot be considered “old” news. Iran has been testing missiles with greater strike capability. With its continuing efforts at creating weapons grade uranium it doesn’t take too many rocket scientists to put one (uranium) and one (Russian strike missiles) and get two (the destruction of Americans in Iraq and Israelis in Israel). How can anyone believe Iran about obtaining nuclear capability for “peaceful” purposes, when there is an entire arm of the Iranian government making deals for convertible conventional weapons to deliver nuclear death? From the article: “The S-300 anti-aircraft missile defense system is capable of shooting down aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missile warheads at ranges of over 90 miles and at altitudes of about 90,000 feet. Russian military officials boast that its capabilities outstrip the U.S. Patriot missile system.” The missiles are billed as defensive weapons yet the Iranians have been testing the technology and attempting to build a longer range offensive capability. The Iranians are keeping United Nations’ weapons inspectors off their soil for a purpose. There would be no need to hide anything if what Tehran was telling the truth about its nuclear ambitions. Two other sentences in the article not to be overlooked: “ Russia has provided Iran with Kilo-Class submarines, MIG and Sukhoi military planes and bombers in recent decades.” These are easily offensive weapons as they are supposedly defensive. The other sentence is: “Iran-Russia ties increased after a visit here by Russian President Vladimir Putin in October [2007].” Now the question arises as to why America even talks to Russia . Iran is a terrorist state financing terrorist cells world wide and as I recall, a certain President declared any country not supporting the war against terrorism is essentially an enemy of the United States . If you supported America ’s enemies you were part of the problem. Russia is certainly part of the problem. Russia has allied itself with Iran against the coalition of nations fighting against everything Tehran stands for. Russia just recently attacked the country of Georgia, an American ally and as the next article will show, Russia is making it a point to flex its military muscle into the western hemisphere in support of newly revived Communist dictatorships in South and Central America . Which brings us to: “Russia sends ships on exercises in U.S. 'backyard' 22 Sep 2008 Source: Reuters by Tatyana Ustinova which began: “Russian warships set sail on Monday for maneuvers in the Caribbean area calculated to demonstrate to the United States Moscow's return as a global power on the military and political stage. The exercises, drawing on a strong alliance with Venezuela 's anti-American President Hugo Chavez, will be closely watched by Western navies as the first such projection of Russian power close to U.S. shores since the collapse of the Soviet Union .” There are many people under the impression America has nothing to fear from Russia . They equate the fall of the Soviet Empire with the fall of Communism. That is just not the case. North Korea , Venezuela , Bolivia , Nicaragua , Cuba , China and Russia are prime examples of the face of Communism. That face consists of a great deal of failure but that face is also the true face of an evil that could engulf the naive. It could as easily be the face of the socialist political left of the United States which now already embraces the ideology of Saul Alinsky and Karl Marx. From the article: “Navy spokesman Igor Dygalo…declined to comment on media reports that nuclear submarines would participate in the exercises and that the warships would visit Syria, where Russia has signaled an interest in developing bases. Russia 's cultivation of leftist Chavez and renewed interest in Cuba and ports of call in the Middle East bear unmistakable echoes of the Cold War…” There was a time America would not tolerate Russian influence in the Gulf of Mexico or anywhere else in the western hemisphere with the exception of perhaps Cuba . Russia has managed to pretend a semblance of democracy but there is no mistake that Vladimir Putin is the boss, just as there can be no disputing Mr. Putin’s hard-core support for the communist ideal. His overtures toward the Venezuelan Madman Chavez will embolden that “Hitler wannabe” into destabilizing South America and the Caribbean . But China is not to be left out of this equation either. That brings us to article number three: “Venezuela to buy Chinese combat planes: Chavez, Sep 21, Britebart where we learn: “Venezuela will buy combat and training aircraft from China this week, leftist Venezuela President Hugo Chavez confirmed in a television broadcast…” Chavez is on a six nation "strategic interest" trip to Cuba , China , Russia , Belarus , France and Portugal .” He is seeking to establish himself as a military power and has made a series of deals with the Chinese Communists which will bring a greater Chinese footprint into South America and the western hemisphere at large.” It is true that China has been waging an economic war against America for decades. The oil deals between the Communist Chinese and the Venezuelan dictator will, in effect, arm Venezuela with weapons systems that will enable Venezuela to support Russian and Chinese military aggression against the United States . This situation is not much different than Russian nuclear missiles being based in Castro’s Cuba .
