We seem to forget that for someone to receive a "government check," the money to pay for that check must be forceably taken from someone else who's actually done something to earn it.

 

We also forget that "government" doesn't produce ANYTHING of intrinsic value in and of itself.  It sometimes PAYS for the production of useful things, but that's NOT the natural function of any government except where such things serve a military or national security purpose.

 

We forget that people  who earn $250,000 annually are usually small business owners who use part of that income to create jobs for others and add to the tax rolls and are NOT a "drain on the economy."  Nor do these people require "more government services" than the guy earning $40,000 per year.  In fact, they usually require LESS "government services" than the average Joe.

 

Don't forget.  For those of you who admire the "Robin Hood" idea, try to remember that Robin Hood didn't really "rob the rich and give to the poor."  He robbed THE GOVERNMENT...the ruling elites who collected taxes, rents and various "fees" FROM the poor and middle class...and gave the poor and middle class back their own money. 

 

Let's not forget that this country was founded as a representative republic...NOT a "democracy."  In fact, the very words "democracy" or "democratic" do not appear ANYWHERE in the founding documents because the founders understood that a democracy is merely a form of tyranny by a "majority" and to them, the value of a single, individual person was paramount...NOT "collective" or "group" rights.

 

We also sometimes forget that we had 8 years of scandalous, corrupt behavior out of a "President" who was glib and articulate and maybe the penultimate con man.  We don't need another one just like him running the government, even though the left thinks his administration was a "success."  The successes he achieved ALL occurred AFTER Congress was taken over by a conservative, GOP majority and it was THEIR successes for which he takes totally undeserved credit.

 

We also forget that it was a liberal majority Supreme Court that gave us Roe vs Wade and created the virtual holocaust in infant mortality and that has cost us 40 MILLION innocent lives as a result...at least partly because the left has succeeded in convincing a lot of women that what they are carrying in their wombs is NOT a real baby, but "an amorphous mass of tissue akin to a cancer."   Do we need our NEXT President to appoint another liberal majority court so that they can then declare old people "useless" and therefore legalize euthanasia, or permit--like Obama has argued for--the killing of babies born alive because the "mother" doesn't want them?

 

Also, let's not forget that the last time a nation "elected" a charismatic speaker who told them what they wanted to hear and who had successfully hidden his true beliefs and racist attitudes, THEY got despotic rule and fascism and WE got World War II and 10 million innocents murdered.  

 

Let's also not forget that "change" and "progress" are NOT interchangeable terms.  Someone who promises you "change" could just as easily change things for the worse, if given the power to do so, than change things for the better.

 

We tend to forget that prior to WWII there was no such thing as "withholding" from one's paycheck.  Income taxes, what there were of 'em, were paid by the individual taxpayers...NOT by their employers.  If we did away with withholding tomorrow and made everyone write a check each payday to the U.S. Treasury, the personal income tax wouldn't last six months before being abolished.  To a slightly lesser degree, the same thing applies to the Social Security tax and Medicare.

 

We also forget that taxes in all forms--income tax, social security, exise taxes, fuel taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, etc. are all paid by CONSUMERS (that's you and me) and, added together, constitute about 45% to 49% of one's total income--regardless of what that income actually is.  In other words, we each and every one work about half of every year to benefit various forms of government instead of keeping that money for our own use.

 

Finally, let's remember that this country belongs to US.  It doesn't belong to the big-moneyed, multi-national corporations.  It doesn't belong to the pollsters.  It doesn't belong to the Hollywood elites or the leftist media wonks, and it CERTAINLY doesn't belong to the Washington or Capitol City politicians and bureaucrats, all of whom, in the final analysis, work FOR us.  The only way we can take it back without a revolution...which, by the way, is Constitutionally PERMISSIBLE as a last resort...is with our votes.  If you don't want to see the above assume control over every aspect of our lives, then go out and VOTE on Tuesday and prove to them all just who it is that DOES "own" the United States of America, and show them all that the LAST thing we want or need is a socialist government, and that we are perfectly capable of running our own lives without any of their "help."
