May 9, 2008 Does anyone else wish this Democratic Primary season was over? Hillary and Barack split North Carolina and Indiana. According to the pundits it will be next to impossible for Hillary to win the Democratic primary, but she keeps plugging away thinking someone is going throw a magic bullet into the ring and her deficit is going to disappear. I guess when you have millions of dollars you get bored. So, hey, why not keep the Rush Limbaugh dream alive? One has to wonder if Hillary’s love for her country runs a little shallower than just pure altruism. Perhaps, she loves power more. Now, that’s just a guess, because I’m just a guesser. I’m not a political analyst like they have on Fox Network, CNN, MSNBC, and those other conglomerates called networks. I’m just a bystander, who votes and wants to see his vote count. Who gives a darn about a gas tax vacation? Personally, that’s one of the biggest smoke screens I’ve seen so far this year. It’s called pandering I believe. Yet, the two panderers, Hillary and John McCain (Hey why don’t they run on their own ticket for the nomination?) insist Barack can’t win where it counts. Hmmm. Now, that’s a little strange don’t you think? Barack leads in pledged delegates and popular vote. Sorry, Barack, that’s not good enough. Now, you have to win blue-collar votes. I guess winning North Carolina by a landslide isn’t good enough. None of those voters were blue-collar voters. Dang, I guess none of those voters in Indianapolis and Gary were blue- collar voters. Hmmm, I say again. Let’s face it. We might as well face it, right? Right. This country is still divided down racial lines and you can bet your booty that Hillary and John will use the “race” card to its fullest potential. Hillary could very well divide the whites and blacks and ruin the possibility of a Democratic President being elected in November. That’s usually a conservative move, but Hillary willing it appears to do most anything to be the nominee. Heck, she’s moving towards the right everyday. Man, she’s going to “obliterate” Iran and she has the guts to say Reverend Wright was a bad boy? Whew, get me out of town please. Perhaps my eyes and ears are failing in my elder years, but it seems to me Clinton is moving toward the populist and central side of politics. Pundits on the Democratic side of things have been explaining that “bomb, bomb, Iran” McCain simply represents a third Bush term. Maybe they’re wrong about that. Maybe Hillary is our third Bush term. She appears to be moving towards the center of left and forsaking the left to center folks. So, what’s left? Let’s hope the party comes together in November to defeat a third Bush term. Do we want a war hero or do we want our jobs back? I’ll take the jobs any day. I’ll take a tax cut for the middle class any day and I’ll gladly take a universal healthcare system. Oh, I almost forgot…I’d like to keep my mortgage in tact. ------------ About the author Stan Grimes: His writing will never improve but his lines of B.S. are getting better by the minute.
