Mar. 13, 2008 As I promised in my last article, Dr. Sabbagh's new book has been published and I believe with all of my heart that everyone needs to read this book. Dr. Sabbagh has been treating my husband for several years and his research work with many neurological disorders is important to all of us. For a little more background on Dr. Sabbagh I will
quote from the jacket of his new book which is entitled:
THE ALZHEIMER'S ANSWER
MARWAN SABBAGH, M.D.
ISBN # 978-0-470-04494-0
"Dr. Sabbagh is a geriatric neurologist and a
leading expert in Alzheimer's research and he founded the Sun Health Research
Institute's Cleo Roberts Center for Clinical Research. He is a leading
investigator for several prominent national Alzheimer's prevention and treatment
trials, including the Alzheimer vaccine studies. He has authored or coauthored
more than seventy medical and scientific articles on Alzheimer's research and is
also a staff physician at Boswell Memorial Hospital, where he specializes in the
diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's. He is an adjunct professor at Midwestern
University and Arizona State University."
The purpose of Dr. Sabbagh's book is to help
reduce your risk of getting Alzheimer's disease by keeping your brain healthy. I
can't think of more important reading material as a care-giver to someone
with Alzheimer's disease. Because of Dr. Sabbagh and his researchers my husband
has been able to lead a fairly normal life and is still a contributing member of
our family.
I'd like to paraphrase the words from the jacket of
Dr. Sabbagh's book to tell you what it's about because it says so much more than
I could ever express in my own limited way.
"The question Dr. Marwan Sabbagh, a leading expert
in Alzheimer's research hears most often is, "Are there things I can do to keep
from getting Alzheimer's disease? Now he responds in "The Alzheimer's Answer, a
complete guide to the latest information on preventing
and slowing the progress of Alzheimer's.
Dr. Sabbagh begins by exploring
exactly what Alzheimer's is and how it's related to
dementia. You will receive a set of tools for assessing your personal
Alzheimer's risk, and you'll see why the author asserts that preventing
Alzheimer's is a reasonable goal.
Dr. Sabbagh also addresses the treatment,
complications and outlines available therapies as well as their downsides and
advantages."
As I've written on several previous occasions,
knowing what this terrible disease is and how to deal with it as both a patient
or a care-giver is essential to every single person. Learning how to possibly
prevent it is absolutely essential.
As with many pioneers on the frontier of
medicine, Dr. Sabbagh is selfless in his never-ending quest to find a cure for
Alzheimer's and other neurological disorders.
When my husband was first diagnosed with this
disease I was lost, confused and scared. With the care provided by Dr. Sabbagh
and his staff of dedicated workers that confusion and fear has turned into
hope. Reading his book can do the same for you while also teaching you how
to help reduce your or a loved one's risk of getting the disease and how to deal
with it if it is already a factor in your life.
"The Alzheimer's Answer" is truly ground-breaking
and I urge you to get a copy of this book....it WILL change
your life.
Check your local bookstore and get this
book...your have no time to waste.
