Brief Notes On Hillary's Loss

By Timothy N. Stelly, Sr.
June 20, 2008

Now that Barack Obama has made history as the first Black American to head the ticket of major political party, it is time to take the next step: Become the first black man to become leader of a predominantly European country. To do this will take the help of his running mate, and there are several names being bandied about, including his vanquished primary foe, Hillary Clinton. Clinton being offered the slot, however, is considered a slim possibility. Speculation is that the others being considered are New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson; Indiana Senator Evan Bayh; Pennsylvania head honcho and Clinton supporter Ed Rendell; and longshots Senator Jim Webb(D-Virginia and former Navy Secretary under Ronald Reagan), Brian Schweitzer (Governor of Montana) and West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin. Joe Biden and Christopher Dodd were also mentioned, buut Dodd has problems with hius name being mentioned in the Countrywide Loans scandal. Biden also has some baggage, including an admission that he plagiarized parts of a speech delivered by Brit Neil Kinnock.

Hillary believes she is "entitled" to be on the ticket--this despite trying to make mince meat of Obama by bringing up the name of Tony Rezko and questioning Barack's sincerity about his relationship with Reverend Wright and now, Michael Pfleger.

The night Obama passed the 2,118 threshold, Hillary chose to make a demand that the 18 million who voted for her, "be heard from." There was no congratulatory remarks regarding her opponent having made history, at lewast, not for four days and then only at the prodding of party leaders.

Miss Clinton has even erroneously stated that she “won” the popular vote. This was more than “fuzzy math,” but again an indignant hint that she was somehow entitled to the VP slot. Moreover, vote totals for Washington state, Maine , Guam , The Virgin Islands and overseas totals (all which Obama won0, were not announced. Obama didn't even run in Michigan , which makes Clinton ’s claims all the more histrionic. The one point not being raised was, when did the popular vote ever matter in a primary?

Finally, Hillary has already served as Vice-president. She had more pull with Bill than Al Gore ever did. Now she believes she can "drive the car from the back seat." Worse, her husband has repeatedly bashed Barack. The day black people started calling Bill "The First Black President" was a sad and shameful day in black history.

Putting her on the ticket would mean Obama better sleep with one eye open. Think Vince Foster--a friend of Bill and Hillary's. She didn’t drop that RFK assassination bomb for nothing. Never has anyone been more deserving of a fall than she; with the lone exception being Lucifer
