June 12, 2008 What is really behind the ostensible and enormously great “concern” for the world’s ecology/environment? Hint: It’s not truly an objective or logical desire for just more pure air, land or water. The powers that be, the internationalist elite, wish to recreate a kind of Edwardian era by themselves being the new, upper-class “Edwardians” who will seek to create and maintain a small elite versus the relative impoverishment of the masses on this planet. Why this accusation? The original Edwardians honestly believed that poor and working-class people, besides the middle class, truly enjoyed learning about or, perhaps, reading about how well their betters lived and, thus, the social inferiors and social dregs would (at least) vicariously share in the (assumed) delight that the upper class really knew how to live well. Opportunities to observe any of their luxurious public displays of wealth were, moreover, thought to pleasantly provide a kind of free public entertainment for the vast majority of people who would, in fact, never be able to afford such tremendous socioeconomic/cultural privileges. Incredible as all this sounds to most 21st century ears, this was the actual “altruistic” belief articulated by the Edwardians; this can be proven both by researching published writings of that past era and has been made further known, in confirmation, even by formerly private diaries that are now available for public perusal; and, history books tell the same thing. Thus, the neo-Edwardians, inclusive of Learjet Liberals, of this present age also wish to assume that by their buying carbon credits, holding rock concerts and Hollywood events for the “environment,” etc., that they too will be (then better) appreciated regarding the continued existence of their incredibly lavish lifestyles. There will be the ideological need, therefore, through enviro-Marxism (by whatever euphemism), to gradually bring about socioeconomic conditions that will mandate lower and lower standards of living, first, in the Western world and, gradually, elsewhere to varying degrees. This will help better insure the success and existence of an Edwardian-style elite. It will be like boiling a frog slowly, so that it does not easily or readily notice real change – until its final and inevitable death, of course. Again, of course, to salve their [ideologically biased] consciences, supposedly, the upper-class supporters of the now widely growing and worldwide environmental religion/ideology will, with great attendant publicity, buy their aforementioned, convenient, carbon credits. And, since, either directly or indirectly, they will be invested in the corporations and other entities that they buy those credits from, it will be then a most pleasant way of simply paying their own money back to themselves. [How much more Edwardian can one get?] Of course, no one is thought to be able to notice this obvious fraud and hypocrisy. This will all be yet another means by which Communism and Capitalism demonstrate their true affinity, not any assumed ideological antagonism, as too often naively and so unfortunately thought. On the surface, sure enough, it will somehow or other appear, to the mainly uninformed, that the environmental moment has just become the new home of radical collectivism; this is by making (supposed) problems for the capitalists through, e.g., environmental regulations as, for instance, in limiting carbon dioxide emissions. [Incidentally, few people seem to intelligently note that the mere act of exhaling puts that gas into circulation, meaning that it is always just a natural, organic, human function.] But, the enviro-Marxism will, nevertheless, be creatively used as the green cover for formulating a new justification for power arrangements that will reinforce more tightly the upper-class power structures throughout the world. It was not by accident, therefore, that, as has been historically observed, the Communist party elites in various countries made sure that the top leadership lived wealthy lifestyles easily comparable to capitalists at the same socioeconomic strata. Power, taken into socioeconomic systems, logically breeds affluence; and, power (at all times) loves itself. Communism was the ideological attempt to basically rationalize and streamline, consolidate and rehabilitate, Capitalism, which explains why literally tens of thousands of capitalists have helped bring about (and sustained) communist regimes; and, why they still wish to do so today. Due to the known ultimate failure of such [utopian/dystopian] regimes, however, Capitalism has wisely decided to latch on to the latest massive ideological craze known as environmentalism; many tens of thousands of corporations are, thus, proclaiming quite loudly just how truly green they now are. Why? Because (currently) – one ought to have simply guessed – that’s where the money is. In a full page advertisement placed by IBM in Businessweek (June 16th issue ), IBM there states that $104 billion, in 2008, will be paid out by green-oriented consumers; such interest in pro-environmental products/goods and services will be simply growing exponentially as more and more governments seriously mandate this specific direction of activity for their national economies. Environmentalism, starting as a mostly late 20th century ideology, means money. Ideologies, however, are the mere window dressings that conceal the power urges actually involved; for China, e.g., will ever have an emperor, by whatever name, as Russia will require a czar, by whatever title. Intellectuals, as Hilaire Belloc had long ago intelligently pointed out, get so easily fooled by terms and terminology that, for them, obscure reality and provide the supine illusion of a deeper form of supposed understanding. This neo-Edwardian elite will, therefore, conveniently utilize the popular, altruistic language/rhetoric of the environmental movement to hide the actual workings of the new world order desired, meaning doing whatever it takes to keep them on top by keeping the vast majority of people down in their place. Too much affluence in the world, especially coming too quickly, disconcertingly upsets power balances by creating demands for admission into the pinnacle of the globalized “social pyramid” controlled by the cosmopolitan elite and aided by their enviro-Marxist toadies. Thus, there always greatly needs to be a kind of economic weeding process for keeping admission tightly controlled so that the inferiors do not contaminate their betters. Inducing massive reductions in the standard of living for most people, over decades of time, will assist in protecting the requisite affluence required for the wanted success of these neo-Edwardians. Poverty and near poverty conditions are, after all, just relative or subjective matters, which can be highly subjective or merely situational. Compared to the upper-class, internationalist elite, about 95% of people in the world are, it can be reasonably said, in relative poverty and another 2% or so are in a state of near relative poverty. And, this is the fundamental situation, as well assisted by [professional] Communists [e.g., the current dictator in Venezuela] who agitate for the glories of materialism, radicalism, secularism, nihilism, etc., which will, without a doubt, further assist the cosmopolitan-capitalist system in obscuring the temporal reality. Because Communism and Capitalism are, in fact, functionally the two sides of the very same coin of modernity, the elaborate stage play will then go on as is needed. The obvious symbiotic relationship of the two ideologies is now being creatively fused, currently more so, by the grand myth of man-made global warming, (as if Greenland, for instance, had not once been appropriately named for a good reason, meaning before the last Ice Age). Because of massive scientific ignorance among the general population, the fact that (so far) at least 31,000 scientists, in 2008, have signed a public statement totally denying any man-made global warming crisis means nothing; the public paranoia due to the green propaganda machine’s lies has forced too many people to believe in the completely idiotic myth. [Both John McCain and Barack Obama, who both believe in the myth, deserve equal public contempt and great scorn for trying to be oh so politically fashionable by persecuting the truth for obviously selfish electoral gain.] And, mankind, for the most part, will ever remain in Plato’s Cave cheering on those terribly uninformed people who “successfully” guess at the many shadows on the walls of the cave thinking those to be true manifestations of fundamental [socioeconomic] reality. ------------ About the author: Joseph Andrew Settanni, CRM, CPC is a Certified Records Manager and Certified Professional Consultant with 30 years of professional experiencein data, archives, records and information management.
