July 10, 2008 Barack Hussein Obama isn't black...he's a chameleon! He's taken so many different positions on so many different subjects that voters MUST be mightily confused by now. There's no doubt that he has a motive for doing this, though; even risking alienating his far-left base by doing so, though there's really not MUCH "risk" involved because there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that his base will look elsewhere for a candidate...even if he publicly were to declare himself to be a born-again evangelical. THEY know that it's all about as phony as, "I did NOT have sex with that woman. Miss Lewinsky." Oh, they'd probably put on a big show of ranting and raving about being "betrayed" but their leadership knows the truth that, in the end, Obama is "their guy." How we got to the place where a man as singularly UNqualified as Obama is could achieve the endorsement of a major political party for President will remain one of history's most puzzling enigmas. I believe that, in part, it stems from our chequered history in dealing with racial differences among us. "White guilt" is a legitimate phenomenon--as irrational as it actually is. Relatively few living Americans were party to the virtual aparthied that was pre-1964 America. Obama certainly was NOT a victim of such practices having been born 'way too late to have experienced them personally. Of course, his membership in Trinity Church in Chicago gave him experience in the bitterness and hatred that permeates many black churches since Mr. Cove conceived "Black Liberation Theology" back in the '60's and there's little doubt that much of it sank in and became part of his personal psyche. He's pretty adept at hiding it, but his wife is considerably less so and it appears frequently in her rantings about the "unfairness" of America--even while growing up in and living a relative life of privilege. Their family income puts them in the top 5% of income-earners in the U.S. yet she railed on about how "unfair" it was for them to have to repay their student loans...until someone told her to shut up, that is. Obama is a phenomenon. Of that there can be little argument. However, all one needs to do is look at his admittedly thin resume to understand where he stands politically, irrespective of his soaring rhetoric of "unity," "hope" and "change." What one says is considerably less important than what one does, and Sen. Obama is at least consistent in his voting record...THE most liberal in the Senate. We have no reason to believe that he would govern any less from the far left than he has voted in the past. One reason for this is to examine his stump speeches, which change his position totally, dependent upon the composition (or perceived composition) of his audience. First, he's for "bringing the troops home NOW," and now, in Montana, he's proclaiming that he needs to "talk to the commanders on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan" before making a decision on troop deployments in the war zones. While the second position is more rational and reasonable, you can be sure that if he REALLY meant it, the anti-war, anti-American, far left enviro-freaks would be screaming bloody murder. That they are NOT is ample proof that they know (as we should know) that he really intends to give up in Iraq and withdraw as rapidly as he can and damn the consequences to our national interests or to the Iraqi people. It was the same left, after all, that bears responsibility for the carnage that followed our withdrawal from Vietnam in 1975--the millions upon millions of southeast Asians who were murdered, imprisoned, starved or sent to "re-education" camps just because OUR left had no problem whatsoever with ceding Asia's "rice bowl" countries to communist domination. Nothing has changed with them. They have this perverted idea that those who produce shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the fruits of their productivity because, to them, that's "unfair." There's a classic story of a college student who became a rabid liberal Democrat because her professors had convinced her that it was "unfair" for some to prosper while others did not. She was embarassed that her father, a conservative Republican, seemed to be unwilling to "share" what he made with those less fortunate because he opposed ever-rising taxes. As she was conveying this to him one afternoon, he asked her how school was going. She proudly told him that, although it took much effort, loss of recreational time and very hard work, she'd managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. He asked her how her roommate was doing and she told him that "Audrey" was taking "snap courses," not studying, partying all the time and even skipped classes when she was hung over and was barely managing a 2.0 GPA. Her father suggested that his daughter speak with the dean and see if she could convince him to allow her to transfer one of her GPA points to Audrey. That way, they'd both have a 3.0 GPA, which would be much "fairer." His daughter protested that she shouldn't be required to share her hard-earned GPA with someone who didn't work one tenth as hard as she'd had to work and was outraged at the suggestion. Her father smiled and said, "Welcome to the ranks of conservative Republicanism." A "President Obama" {shudder} has already pledged to redistribute the nation's wealth to make us "fairer." Now, strictly in pursuit of that lofty title, he is saying that he wants us to do this "voluntarily" instead of using the tax code to force us to change our behavior, which we KNOW is what he intends to do to us. Senator Obama really is a chameleon, but, like that reptile, the changes are strictly superficial and only "skin deep." He really IS (and will remain) a far left ideologue.
