![]() By Bonijean Isaacs Jan. 12, 2008 This Year, Christian Evangelist Pat Robertson, predicted a recession, a major stock market crash, increased violence and increasing prices at the gas pump. Last Year, his prophecy of a nuclear terror attack in 2007 didn’t happen. Responding to why the U.S. was spared "possibly millions" of deaths in a serious terrorist attack last year, Robertson said, "All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us." The Man has it made. If his predictions don’t come true, he can give credit to the “Power of Prayer!” In May 2006, God told Robertson that the Pacific coastlines would be "lashed by storms" and the Pacific Northwest hit by "something as bad as a tsunami." It’s good thing some of those Hedonistic Left Coasters know how to pray. The Tsunami never happened on the West Coast in 2006. It happened in New Orleans in 2005 because Pat Robertson forgot to tell that God was mad at them and they needed to pray. Pat Robertson blames the Katrina Hurricane and rising gas prices on the liberals, feminists, pagans, gay people and other heathens. Nevertheless, Robertson has to sing Praises because FEMA gave money for his “Operation Blessings” Charity. The Lord took away via Hurricane Katrina and the Lord gave back via FEMA to Pat Roberson and Operation Blessings. I am curious about what great sin does God think the American people are committing. According to Presidential Candidate Barack Obama ……….. “we first need to understand that Americans are a religious people. 90 percent of us believe in God, 70 percent affiliate themselves with an organized religion, 38 percent call themselves committed Christians, and substantially more people in America believe in angels than they do in evolution.” Granted, we have some criminal types who are not lawabidding. We have a justice system and jails to put those guys in their place. Youth being youth by nature tends to walk the wild side but maturity usually prevails with time. Is God really all that interested in the ill gotten headboard banging sensual gratification in which some folks participate? The law of Natural Consequences and Ageing will usually modify that type of behavior. Most Americans are nice people by nature. God really doesn’t have to send natural disasters and terrorist attacks to make them love him more. Maybe God gets tired of getting blamed for all that stuff. Needless to say, if Pat Robertson is right, those Presidential Wannabes really need to consider giving him a job. Sylvia Brown could be his assistant. Maybe if they call for a day of Prayer and Fasting, we can lower the price of Gas. ------------ About the Author: Bonijean Isaacs is an Astrologer and Freelance Writer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
