Dec. 5, 2008 Most of my articles tend to have an angry tone so I wanted
to change pace and wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous Christmas,
Hanukah, Kwanza and New Year.
Although many of us are feeling the financial changes and
the pressures that are upon us, we still have many things to be thankful for. I
have a large family which includes a new grandson and 6 other sweet
grandchildren and I have a husband who, although suffering from a disease for
which there is no known cure, still consider myself to be a lucky
person.
My grandchildren bring me great pleasure and their
parents are doing their very best to raise them with values. My husband's
disease hasn't progressed much and he still is a functioning and wonderful
individual. He is cognizant of his family and contributes much to our family
dynamic. He recognizes all of us and even with short term memory loss, is able
to have fun with everyone.
There are times when I feel very frustrated by the fact
that my life as I once knew it has changed drastically, but it is
still worthwhile and there is
still laughter and hope.
I am hoping that all of you are able to find that hope
within your own lives and that no matter what the sacrifices that you may have
to make that you are managing to dwell on the good things and the important
things; like family and hope that our futures will be better and brighter.
When I wake up on Christmas morning I will think about the
many gifts that I already have and I will be grateful for all of them. That will
include this place and the wonderful people who read and write
here.
I thank you all for allowing me to express myself
throughout the year and in the future and hope that you will all be blessed in
the coming year.
