By Patrick Hurley Dec. 1, 2008 If the biggest liar on the planet is Joran Van der Sloot then the dumbest person on the planet is Greta Van Sustern. Once again, she has proven to the world that she is clueless when it comes to journalistic investigations. Traveling halfway across the world to interview a pathological cretin is not only a huge waste of time and money for the Fox Network, it is a reflection on the limited judgment and talent of Ms. Sustern as well. She is about as astute as a piece of coral on Aruba. Geraldo Rivera roaming around the vaults of Al Capone is a genius compared to Greta who consistently believes Van der Sloot is honorable which begs the question, is she a naive humanist who believes in the goodness of every man or dumber than dirt? I am putting my money on dirt. Who is paying this woman a salary? Wile E. Coyote? She is becoming the Rosie Ruiz of news. Everyone else is running hard and Greta hops on a train to the finish line and claims she has the winning story when in reality she is losing more ground in the eyes of anyone with an IQ above 6. No wonder the Dutch boy keeps giving her interviews; he loves attention. Greta keeps giving it to him and as he lies and lies, (and lies!) her reputaion goes deeper and deeper into the abyss. She has as much crediblity as Jessica Simpson at a MENSA convention. The latest example of yet another farcical episode between these two clowns occurred when Greta met with Joran and gave him an "opportunity" to tell the truth once and for all about what happened to sweet Natalee that night refusing to realize that he is incapable of the truth...past, present and future. He played her beautifully by mumbling at key moments, threatening to abruptly end the interview, conveniently forgetting the names of any key individuals in his story and then finally, reversing his entire story a day later making Greta look like the fool she really is when it comes to journalistic credentials. Joran's story about selling Natalee Holloway to a man named Andy or Adamovich or Alvin the Chipmunk, (some name that sounded like an "A") was ridiculous. After three sentences it was obvious Greta was floundering and Joran was enjoying the rush of one of his many addictions. Lying for this boy is as powerful an opiate as gambling, misogyny, sex, drugs, alcohol and violence. He is an equal opportunity addict.. He loves them all. He claimed in the interview that he is no longer speaking with his parents. This means he needs a new mommy to lie to and thankfully for him, Greta came to the rescue at the right time. Joran needs his "confessions" much like Ted Bundy needed vulnerable women with their hair parted down the middle. There is evil in both of them and the only way to stop them is to catch them in the act of a crime not interview them over and over again for ratings. Joran will eventually be netted because he is self-destructive and destructive, period. But, his demise will have nothing to do with Greta Van Sustern. She is not his judge, jury or accuser. She is his enabler. The sooner she stops talking to him, the sooner he will tell what really happened to someone in the quiet of the night while he is on drugs and alcohol. Hopefully, that acquaintance of his will have the character to turn him in and end his game. Greta Van Sustern will not be that person. She is incapable of pinning slime when she has most of her attention riveted on ratings and personal fame. She is not doing this for Natalee or for the Holloway family. She is grasping for the straws of notoriety just like her pathetic interviewee. Joran Van der Sloot made Greta famous and she continues to return the favor. Obviously, they need each other more than the truth of what happened to Natalee.
And, that's On the Record.
