Aug. 1, 2008 Human Beings were created with two eyes in the front of their heads; this gives us Binocular Vision. This cuts down on our field of view, but aids greatly in two other ways. First, binocular vision allows us to detect things that we would otherwise miss. It is a type of optical Gestalt because the sum of both eyes is more than each eye's separate activity. Second, binocular vision gives us excellent depth perception. Having good depth perception keeps us from walking smack into our front door after we've opened the screen door. Because binocular vision helps us to see clearly, I want to employ TWO stories recently in the News, so that we might see what's happening and where we are in America. The first 'Eye' involves Eleven Christians who were arrested in 2004 at a taxpayer-funded Homosexual Celebration in Philadelphia. These Christians have been given the appellation 'Philadelphia 11' These Christians were arrested from off the public street and sidewalk, and spent 21 hours in jail. They were charged with felonies, by 'Hate Crimes' standards, and could have gone to prison for 47 years. The non-hate crime of stabbing someone in the neck would only get you 6 six years in prison...on a bad day. It should be noted that the 'Philadelphia 11' could not be charged with disrupting a public event because they WEREN'T being disruptive. Besides, threatening someone with 47 years in prison is a lot more exciting than giving someone an Appearance Ticket! In fact, the Christians were the ones being disrupted and harassed by the Homosexual Community. Finally, a Judge came to his Constitutional senses and dismissed the charges because they had no basis in fact. The charges only had a basis in farce...the farcical, Orwellian world of the Secular/Socialist. This gave the 'Philadelphia 11' an opening through which a myriad of other 'put-upon' groups have successfully walked; they filed for damages against the city. It is common and right to expect that someone would be held ACCOUNTABLE for violating the Constitutional, and Civil Rights of Americans. This 'common and right' expectation, however, was not for the 'Philadelphia 11' to enjoy because in The Barn Yard some are less equal than others. A Federal Appeals Court DISMISSED the complaint by the Christians. I guess they should just thank the State Church they didn't have to spend the rest of their lives in prison...yet. The second 'Eye' involves an Abortion Clinic in Aurora, Illinois. This "Clinic" (a euphemism any Socialist can be proud of) had only a temporary Certificate of Occupancy up until July 1st of 2008; they now have a Final Certificate which could grant them a permanent legal status. The road the Abortion Clinic followed to this 'permanent recognition' was filled with misdeeds. The City of Aurora ADMITTED that the wrong ordinances had been applied, and that the "Clinic" was built under the wrong zoning laws. The whole process seems to be shot-through with falsified applications, invalid permits and phony inspections. Again that 'common and right' thing seems to have gone the way of the Fetus-in-the-Clinic. While the Christians could not be rewarded for the wrong done to them, the "Clinic" was rewarded in spite of its recognized wrong-doing. So let's put these two 'Eyes' together and see where we are at in America. In America we are now practicing Legal Positivism...in short, that means the End justifies the Means. The laws will apply, and recompense will be had, for some animals in The Barn Yard, but not for others. After all, we do want things to run smoothly...don't we? This arbitrary law makes the Pigs squeal with delight, but has set the U.S.A. off on a path of "Legal/Moral Lies". Our two 'Eyes' show us that these seemingly disparate, and easily missed events are, in fact, movements toward a collision with history...and history always wins. Our two 'Eyes' cause us to see the depth at which these News events stand, not only relative to each other, but with Biblical Events. Even though the events in Genesis stand far-back in our depth perception relative to these two up-front News stories, we should see that the story is the SAME...it involves a Legal/Moral Lie. Might I quote the Serpent: "You surely will not die!" Remember that doozy?! After all is said and done, we should not expect any Government, that puts its Imprimatur on the breaking of the Law of Moses, to keep their own laws.
