Catching The Eye Of The Reader

By Michael John McCrae
Sept. 21, 2007

The “Stars and Stripes” for September 21st, 2007 was full of eye-catching headlines and interesting articles: a real microcosm of world information.

The page #2 article describing the 50% “cut in violence” in Baghdad , Iraq was tempered with a companion article full of bad news. We can’t have any good news standing alone on any page of any paper nowadays. It might give the true impression of progress. We can’t have that now, can we?

The fact that our soldiers captured another Iranian in Iraq who “was allegedly involved in transporting roadside bombs…” will not faze the anti-war crowd. The Iranians have been conducting a “proxy” war against America since 1971 and we’ve been allowing them to kill Americans without exacting any punishment against them for all those years.

Even now all the talk of a possible war against Iran is rhetorical. The last thing the world wants is American retaliation against any sworn enemy. It may be alright to name an “Axis of Evil” as long as you then merely throw U.N. resolutions at the problem instead of bombs.

The Iranians have threatened Israel and have refused the requests of U.S. diplomats to abide by a treaty signed to prevent nuclear proliferation. The Iranian leadership is fraught with proven liars and Islamic morons looking to foment further aggression in Iraq and Israel by passing EFP’s over its border with Iraq and training homicide killers on Iranian soil.

It was excellent to read where the U.N. approved of the extension of the NATO mission to Afghanistan by a vote of 14-0. This will give the Taliban there no peace. Yet a companion article discussing the cost of an extended stay in Iraq gave another democrat opportunity to call President Bush a liar. The article addressed the fact we have been on South Korean soil for decades at a mean cost of $25 billion per year. There has been little discussion about the expense due to the threat posed by North Korea .

Yet Kent Conrad, Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee (D-N.D.) had the administration “investigated” over the same circumstance we face in Iraq against the threats from Iran and Syria . The Democrats can’t stand the fact the President will not pull out of Iraq , leaving the war fighting to his successor.

I read where a “Turkish” hacker hacked into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington , D.C. “defacing” the website. The guy is a “Turk” and not a “Muslim” or an Islamic fundamentalist. The article simply mentions the designation “kook”. Well, for all you Islamic fundamentalist hackers out there I might suggest finding a fulfilling job out in the world somewhere. Find a good woman. Raise a family of little ones. Put away your AK-47 and your RPG’s and get a life. Morons!

The so-called “ Jena six” are “teens”? Why are they “teens” when only one of the six was charged as a juvenile? Five of the six are adult males that should know better than to gang up on one white individual in assault mode. They cannot be more than cowards now hiding behind the Rev. Al Sharpton and his untold thousands of racist followers. The whole idea of the protest is to let five adult males get away with assaulting a white kid. This is akin to the many attempts to get cop-killer Mumia Abdul-Jamal free from his jail cell.

Why aren’t the Revs Al and Jesse checking into the three black men from Salemburg, North Carolina who held a group of ten teenagers’ hostage while forcing them to have sex with each other? They might try to get those three off on some type of racial technicality.

Unlike white-guy Vinson Filyaw who was recently sentenced to 421 years – yes, that’s four-hundred and twenty-one years for only kidnapping and forcing sex on one 14-year-old girl.

I would like to know why nobody got together to protest Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to the United States . Heck! Every time our President visits some dictatorship, or even France , the protestors are out in force. Yet nobody took to the streets against that smarmy little Islamic puke-head from Iran . It was nice to see Mitt Romney take a stand against his visit, but it was sad that of the entire congressional leadership of America , not one Congressperson stood beside Mr. Romney in his call for Ahmadinejad’s arrest under the United Nations laws against inciting genocide.

I know what the Democrats were up to though. They were attempting another bill to limit President Bush’s authority as Commander in Chief. They failed again and a rumor I’m trying to start is that Cindy Sheehan was going to join Dan Rather in a class action suit against the Democratic National Committee citing “Loss of Conjugality”.

In the meanwhile I read that more than 16,000 Cubans have “go-fast-boated” themselves illegally into America for a mere $10,000 a head. These are apparently middle-class Democrat voters being imported by human smugglers. Norman Hsu bundled money for the Democrats. Smugglers with “go-fast-boats” are bundling democratic voters!

What an interesting news day!
