Weapons Of Mass Destruction, Fred Thompson And Global Warming

By Michael John McCrae
Sept. 1, 2007

This little blurb from Reuters Interested me greatly.

“Dangerous Iraq chemicals found stored at U.N. in NY, Thu Aug 30, 2007 1:06 PM ET, UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - United Nations officials found vials of dangerous chemicals, which had been removed from Iraq a decade ago, in a U.N. building in New York, but U.N. officials said on Thursday there was no danger.”

“The FBI was called in to help remove the substances. The material was phosgene, a chemical warfare agent, U.N. spokeswoman Marie Okabe told a news conference. The inspections unit said in a statement that the chemicals had been found last Friday.”

“The Iraqi weapons inspectors came across the material as they were closing their offices, which are housed in a building near the U.N. headquarters in Manhattan, said Ewen Buchanan, a spokesman for the inspectors.”

Will anyone question this find at the United Nations! These weapons were “found” during a cleanout of offices used by Iraqi weapons inspectors? Why weren’t these weapons in a place where they could be continually accounted for? Was it some plan by someone in the United Nations to unleash these chemical weapons at some point? Was it the plan of some inspector to embarrass the government by hiding these chemical weapons after having removed them from Iraq? Where is the proof these chemicals have been at the U.N. building for 10 years and not, let’s say, 4 or 5 years?

It may be time to send the dogs into every corridor of the United Nations to see what else might be “found”!

Former Senator Fred Thompson is going to make things official. The report from “The Trail” website says: “Fred Dalton Thompson will tell his supporters that he is running for president today in a 4 p.m. conference call [updated to simple press statement] with 800 to 1,000 elected and party officials from around the country, a source close to the campaign said today.”

“On the call, Thompson will detail his plans for the future, which are expected to include an appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" on Wednesday night -- even as his rivals debate on Fox -- and could be followed by a formal announcement the next day.”

This will begin to make the election interesting to me. I want to see Fred Thompson in the mix. I believe he is the strongest conservative among the group and I don’t believe he’ll take any innuendo from the opposing party.

Fred Thompson may have personal baggage, but I believe him a man of integrity who only has the best interests of the American people foremost in his mind. We will see if he is a man of platitude or of substance. As I said, I am very interested now.

And on the Global Warming front: Warming front: Posted by Matthew_Dempsey@epw.senate.gov (4:45pm ET) “ Last week in his blog post, New Peer-Reviewed Scientific Studies Chill Global Warming Fears, on the Inhofe EPW Press Blog, Marc Morano cited a July 2007 review of 539 abstracts in peer-reviewed scientific journals from 2004 through 2007 that found that climate science continues to shift toward the views of global warming skeptics.

“Today, Michael Asher provides more details about this new survey in his blog post, Survey: Less Than Half Of All Published Scientists Endorse Global Warming Theory. Asher writes that the study has been submitted for publication in the journal Energy and Environment.”

If you are concerned about global warming at all you should read these reports. What they boil down to is the fact that current data does not actually support man-made climate change and more scientists are in agreement with that view.

Consensus is not science. Science is investigation, facts and observable data. Real science is showing the truth about global warming.

From the article: “These changing viewpoints represent the advances in climate science over the past decade. While today we are even more certain the earth is warming, we are less certain about the root causes. More importantly, research has shown us that -- whatever the cause may be -- the amount of warming is unlikely to cause any great calamity for mankind or the planet itself.” (Michael Asher, August 29th)

Check out the above postings and make up your own mind. The seas didn’t overflow ten years ago and they are not going to overflow ten years from now. Al Gore needs to go back to school.
