Nov. 13, 2007 I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I seem to be getting the distinct impression that the defenders of the noxious weed are about to go into the attack mode. I seem to be hearing more and more radio shows announcing polls where surveys conducted upon school children have produced results suggesting that academic achievement is not linked to the smoking or not smoking of this nearly socially acceptable substance. Can't imagine what subjects these kids were taking but I have seen adults come into the office on a Monday morning after ingesting the stuff into the blood stream who could barely pick their noses, never mind perform any useful work. The human brain over the eons has reached a near state of perfection regarding its ability to coordinate the body’s physical activity. If a bird is at fifty feet or so the brain transmits this knowledge to the arm ordering it to assume a certain angle in order to propel a stone in the direction of the bird. That this is true can be ascertained by noting the proliferation of human kind on this planet; a specious sadly lacking in bodily strength, speed, armor, teeth and claws. If it were possible to hurls the same stone in a more accurate way by ingesting into the system the nearly socially acceptable substance I am sure that we all would have been smoking the stuff since first walking erect. Nearly socially acceptable substances impair the brains ability to judge distance and hinder coordination. True those under its influence think they have great physical ability but when it comes down to any kind of test they usually come of worse than those who have uncluttered brains. Like wise it is claimed by its adherents that it stimulates the mind to greater intellectual achievements allowing those under its influence to write songs featuring strawberry fields, levees that run dry, American pie, and desires to get 'high high high’. Personally I feel that the writers of these lyrics are perfectly straight and in an ingenious way have tapped into a lucrative market; those who, due to the sedation they are under, are amenable to the product of these sly capitalists.
I have a theory that the nearly socially acceptable
substances are in fact more dangerous than the product
of Afghanistan or Colombia. Persons who use the latter
are immediately recognizable and thus dismissed as
irrelevant (except to those in law enforcement) while
the users of the former can go through most of their
life undetected. Use of the substance does however
impair the intellectual ability, witness the strange
social systems coming into play where political
parties preach the immediate demise of the world
though the activities of mankind in much the same as
did the ancient Christians preach the coming of the
flood due to mans wickedness. The denigration of
western civilization can too be explained in this way
as a large number of its adherents seem to use the
stuff as do those who believe that when nature created
man and women its purpose was not solely for the
reproduction of the species. What we have here is a
form mass hysteria fueled by socially acceptable
substances and pushed by greedy capitalists.
