May 20, 2007 Okay, Okay, this issue has many sides, illegal immigration is something that is dividing the country. But what part of the word "illegal" immigration is not understood by our legislators. Illegal means not lawful or breaking the standard rules set by the people who make up the rules. With the above definition, a person would think that it would be easy to enforce the simple immigration rules already set by our government. But it is not. Companies, apartment owners, the American consumer, terrorists, drug dealers and the illegal immigrants benefit from the lack of enforcement by the government. Basically everybody in America has some line into illegal immigration. Personally, I would like to see every person that is an illegal immigrant penalized for breaking the law. The solution to the problem would be shipping the people home. The children of these people would suffer. How? The families would be separated. Why? Send them all home, then the jobs and wages would increase because the citizen's in this country would have those jobs. My grandfather always told me, "That as long as someone wanted to work there would always be a job for them." Many American's looking for legal work can not find a job. Some of these people have stopped looking for work. The wages of jobs available are not high enough to pay for a family. It's so bad, that to survive a family needs duel income. It could get worse where a husband might need two wives to support his simple family. Think about it. This is a problem. Right? But many American's want their wages a bit higher than what companies want to pay. Hence, the companies encouraging people from other countries to break our laws. Well, if you want to break the law of immigration, lets do away with the passport system. Let's get rid of "The Patriot Act" which limits freedom because we have to feel secure. Let's not worry about terrorists coming into our country via, airports, ports and driving over the boarder because they can just go over the boarder, like the illegal immigrants. I guess this is my conservative roots talking. They do come out once in a while. I know the candidate I am supporting is looking for middle ground on this issue but nobody is perfect. This issue has me mad. Illegal immigration deserves the attention of congress and the president, a suggestion: move money from the miss guided war in Iraq to get more law enforcement, then enforce the laws already in place.
We need to penalize ourselves too, maybe a five dollar
tomato is worth the enforcement of our rule of law.
