May 10, 2007 Whimsy and politics are not something people put together every day. There are somethings that I find funny happening recently and I want to just talk about those, instead of serious issues. Yes, being serious is something that politicians take to heart. As everybody may have seen or read about our President, he talked about the Queen celebrating our bi-centennial in 1976. Well, that just makes him human right. But something less reported happened earlier in the Queen's trip to America. I saw a video of Cheney sitting next to the Queen like a school boy who did not want to be there. I don't know what was said, but when I saw the pictures and I laughed out loud. It was shown on CNN in a video of a procession, before a luncheon. Cheney being the president, oh, I mean vice-president, acts like a spoiled brat when he is not getting exactly what he wants. I never in my life have seen so many photos of a public figure with a pout on their face, as I have seen on Cheney's. If you don't believe me look at the photo's of him demanding that a sovereign government, we set up in Iraq, is not doing what the American politicians want them to do. The man looked once again like a spoiled bully, not the diplomat he is supposed to embody. It is funny! And it makes our government look like a big joke. Oh, Hillary, my candidate had moments of being awkward in the beginning of the campaign for her husband's presidency, remember the headbands. Or the time she looked in many TV cameras saying things that some people found stuffy and elitist. Hillary is as human as Cheney, isn't she, and if we can elect a person who pouts all the time, when not getting his way, why not elect a women who is smart and might know something about diplomacy? Boy that word has been bantered around a lot lately, "Elitist". It must be like a disease, if you are college educated and want to know more than the media is willing to tell you: You are an Elitist. You know what, when that word is used I think about the Nazis pointing at the Jews, saying they are the route of the problems and need to be eliminated. What is wrong with being smart? Answer: If a person is smart, that person is not controllable. That is a threat to bullies. That is a threat to people who want followers.
I guess whimsy and politics don't go together well,
but find humor in everything the politicians do.
There are a few things that they do that reminds you
of them being human.
