Mar. 3, 2007 Nancy Pelosi is the first woman to become Speaker of the House and third in line for succession to the presidency to the United States of America. This is a great honor for all women and one we hope she uses judiciously. Harry Reid is Senate Majority Leader. Both come to these posting with loads of experience and many good intents, but intent is not enough when the people of the United States voted for change this past November in the mid-term elections. It is time that Nancy and Harry make the difficult changes that we cried for loud and clear. Cutting a meager $20 Billion dollars from Bush's overall budget for his war with Iraq does not do enough for our voices and only serves as placation for the overall cause. America voted for a change in direction. America voted to end this war with Iraq and to bring our troops home. America wants this ridiculous war to end and the only way for this war to end is to cut off ALL funding for it. This Administration and people for the war say that if we bring our troops home we will have to bolster up for a fight against terrorism here instead of there. This is blind stupid rhetoric. If we had spent the Trillions of dollars on securing our borders, ports, railways, and air terminals instead of beginning a civil war in Iraq we would not be vulnerable to terrorists in the first place. This President has done nothing to protect the people of America and does not deserve our trust and support. This Administration had trampled on the hearts and souls of all Americans in their blood thirsty quest to take Iraq from Saddam Hussein. President Bush and his merry band of warmongers gave America and Congress no fewer than three bold faced lies in order to effectuate this ill fated war with Iraq. The first was the weapons of mass destruction. The second was the possibility of chemical weapons that could endanger America. Of this one there was at least a scant possibility they were correct in that Bush Sr. had sold this technology to Iraq during his short term as president. The third and final reason was to free the people of Iraq from an evil dictator. Saddam is now dead and our troops continue to die, for what? Recall the fabricated intelligence data used to convince Congress that this war was an absolute necessity? Recall the gross authorization (Presidential Directives and the Patriot Act) that enabled this President to effectuate even more control over the people of America's constitutionally granted freedoms? It is time to revoke those powers granted to President Bush after 9/11. It is time to give America and all her freedoms back to the Americans. It is time to move toward ending this war and bringing our troops back home and out of harms way. It is time to cut off all spending for the continuation of this war. It is time to hold all parties in this Administration accountable for these transgressions and more by moving to impeach Bush and his cronies! If Congress fails to act on the voices for change the Democratic party will suffer the consequences in 2008 and America can ill afford that! The time to act is NOW!
