Enough Is Enough:  The Executive Racket

By Nicholas Olson
Jun. 26, 2007

The American presidency will never be the same... Thank God!

Are you still gonna defend them? I lay down the gauntlet. This administration can't possibly stoop any lower. But can Americans, conservative and liberal, take anymore of this madness?

Every week, it seems more and more that this administration is full of some kind of magical ability to overcome logic and reason, and yet still maintain its control on this country.

If I were a conservative, I would be irate that not only this president and his staff are members of their party, but that their chosen leaders in Congress were willing, more often than not, to forego their party's core values, just to stay in power.

Liberals do need to pull rank to get tough on this president. He is his own best friend and really, his only ally left. Feeling a need to be assertive, maybe it's time to call his bluffs and show more determination than mere quotations and crazy metaphors on the Senate floor. Maybe it's time to listen to the people and, in unison, call for his ouster.

Regardless of loyalty, all leaders should put this president in check and remove him from power. It's time. Regardless of his time left in office, a cheeky-love fact that all liberals are keeping track of, the fact is that damage can still be done under his leadership. Holding him accountable sends a worldwide message that we, as the people who are mentioned in the United States Constitution, are not going to be made fools of any longer.

For those still dumb enough to hold out hope on this guy and his cronies, it's time to take either a long vacation, or get some professional help. This president is for no one but himself and his buddies, as if a fraternity house has taken over the government and is playing a drinking game with politics.

Peace.
